http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-54873105

"The first effective coronavirus vaccine can prevent more than 90% of people from getting Covid-19, a preliminary analysis shows.

"The developers - Pfizer and BioNTech - described it as a "great day for science and humanity".

It IS more important. Going on with life is what's necessary. Putting our heads in the sand and putting healthy people under house arrest doesn't do anybody any good except maybe the people with pre-existing conditions.

When your life is more effected by the measures implemented than the virus itself, where's the real damage being caused?

Covid-19 in the US: Is this coronavirus wave the worst yet?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-54966531?xtor=ES-208-[37994_NEWS_NLB_+WK48_Tue_17_Nov]-20201117-[bbcnews_ussecond_newsworld_ussecond]#

"With more than 11 million confirmed cases, the US has the highest number of infections in the world and the spread of the virus shows no sign of slowing down.

"On average, more than 1,000 people are now dying every day in America and recent daily spikes have been higher than those seen during the summer outbreak.

"The current wave of infections is the third one to hit the US this year but the one major difference is that it's affecting every region at the same time.

"One forecasting model run by experts at the University of Washington says the US could see another 100,000 deaths between now and 20 January, when Mr Biden enters the White House."

Yeah................listen to the wisdom here, that lunatic Trump did such a fine job of handling this crisis that just for that alone I'm sure there's a special place in HELL for him pitchfork
How are you going to try and spin your way out of this one moronic Trumpers?
He's got the blood of hundreds of thousands on his hands but even if you put all that aside, how many has he himself infected?
I'd be losing it like he has if I was going to be in history books as the worst president ever!

As good as every country is experiencing a 2nd wave, which I don't think is so strange. I had expected it, based on what I'd read on the progress of the Spanish flu.
After the first wave went people thought they were out of the woods, and it hadn't been all that bad.
Then a few months later a 2nd wave hit which killed most of the people that died of it.

In this 2nd wave you see less people dying of it, for some reason. Maybe because now it also affects more young people who easier bounce back?

A 3rd wave for the US? There is no 3rd wave. BS story to scare people.
A new wave would be after a period of no cases or hardly any cases and then it starts again.
In that sense the US NEVER had an easing. It just went on and on and on, and still continues to do so. Just that the numbers of new cases a day increases doesn't indicate a new wave.

The numbers of deaths per day don't interest me as much as the number of new cases. The latter says how bad it is spreading which I find more important. The first of course says how dangerous it is.

But when looking at death rate this is nowhere close for instance the Black Death.
The recovery rate is good, 97%, the death rate 3%.
I don't find that bad. No reason for panic nor for a hastily cooked up vaccine.

It's a shame people are still succumbing to the fear-mongering program that's being rammed down our throats.

It's proven the facial masks don't help, if nothing else they MAKE you ill. Yet almost everyone these days is wearing one. Except me :) My kids don't either btw.
It's clear the tests are f*(ked, yet people believe the numbers we're told.

I don't want a vaccine, I don't want a face mask as I'm not a freaking Muslima, and I don't want to be tested.
Because I don't need it, it's total nonsense.
It's taking away our freedom by instigating worldwide fear.

Now I do understand if you have asthma/COPD that you're very careful. But then it's even more important to NOT wear a face mask! My friend with bad asthma got totally ill because of having to wear the face mask at work. Even the face screen was too much air obstruction for her lungs.
She's still home to recover. Problem is that she likely sustain damage to her lungs due to that mask which was totally not necessary.

I hope people start using their heads instead of fear.

Amazing... I still don't understand why people have to panic-buy and hoard bog paper. You'd think food is more important, if there'd be a necessity to hoard that is.
But Australia is doing quite well so far, so what the hell the fuss is about?

Deutsche gründlichkeit...

Just goes to show how happy people are about having rules -and soon laws- rammed down their throats.
We will have the same law implemented as per Dec 1st.
I am NOT happy about. It's one thing to be careful and practise safety and so on and to make that a rule, it's another to be forced by a law to wear certain items or else...
That reeks of the practices of a certain regime that the whole world fought for 5 yrs.

I feel that's good news!!
Like I read the other day, Germans have been wearing masks en masse since the beginning yet it got bad -and still is- over there as well. Which proves the masks don't work.

I still feel it's something we simply gotta ride out. Our bodies will recover as our own immune system is the strongest thing there is to fight disease.

And also glad to hear fewer people are wearing masks. I hoped we had the same here, but unfortunately it's mandatory by LAW per Dec 1!
As it is now most wear one in the supermarket anyway so why we need a law is beyond me.
I'm happy if I see 1 other person without a facial mask. You'd almost take a photo of it, or post about it on FB haha. It's become a rarity, which is insane!
I went to another supermarket in the next village this afternoon. I have not seen 1 person without a mask...
Just me.

Happy for you grocery supplies are returning to normal.
We never had a problem at all, supermarket were fully stocked. But not having food, or lots of empty shelves, must be awful!

It was extreme in the spring but now only the imported items from some countries are hard to find.

With the headlines I posted last night (I only read the headlines mostly) I expect another rash of insanity to follow soon.

The VA and Medicare keep sending me emails to get a flu shot.
Last time I did (a few years ago) had a bad reaction so not interested.
But...they're pushing it.

I still have had no personal experience nor met anyone who has or knows anyone who has.
Like I stated earlier - I wear a mask because society expects it. Its not an inconvenience because I have a box given to me by my landlord and I don't go out much anymore. I know I am certainly not going to buy two masks for $10 no matter how good they claim to be.

I have COPD so the mask sometimes makes it hard for me. I lift it so a bit more air can get in, also my glasses fog up sometimes. But.. I do have it on my face. Puts others at ease.
I do wash my hands more but I washed my hands pretty regularly before this.

We live in a time of Pandemic Insanity.

Yep, we do live in a crazy time.
Wearing a mask to reassure people is the last on my list of concerns. Not my job. They are the ones living in fear and me wearing a mask isn't going to change that.
I've only once wore one for half an hour when I had to see my osteopath. Their practice is in a hospital and in that hospital and their practice it was made mandatory. So I had no choice, I had to see her.

I also got an invite for the flu shot some 1,5 months ago. I never go get it but I get the invite as I occasionally use an inhaler. I have bronchitis due to smoking, although I think it's a thing of the past since I quit smoking. My cough's totally gone, breathing has improved etc. Never use the inhaler.
I had special grains that do the same as the flu shot and the woman who does these grains (alternative medicine) included Covid in 'em.

I do know someone who got it. She is a caregiver and an old lady turned out to have it and she got it from the lady. That old woman died of it, my acquaintance recovered, took some 2-3 week, longer to get her energy back. Her husband got it to, from her.
She had to cough like an idiot, very short of breath, it manifested different in her hubby, he didn't have to cough all that much. Both were very tired and took a long time to recover.
And if you have pneumonia with it, it does damage to the lungs. I have that on good authority.
So it is crappier than normal flu, which isn't to be taken lightly either. Biggest difference being the recovery and high risk of permanent damage if you had pneumonia.

One reason to certainly not want the flu shot now is fear for them having put some Covid chit in it. I do NOT want any of that.

Oh well. Fingers crossed.
If you're at all concerned, tap your breastbone in the middle of the chest regularly. Or a little higher than the middle, just a bit above the natural nipple line. This helps stimulate the thymus and with that immune system. Doesn't cost anything, you can do it several times a day.
Even if you don't believe it, who cares. You will be doing your body a favour.

The vid is now banned and unavailable in most places.
