I bet by next year his car will look like a NASCAR with all the endorsements

So the guy slams our Law Enforcement, Disrespects our soldiers and is engaged to someone who is a strong supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood and he gets endorsed by Nike? I guess next Nike will endorse Assad or mayb e even a Bin Laden...….

what he did is interpreted differently by different people, just like some people believe our POTUS 'slams' the intelligence agency CONSTANTLY or disrespects soldiers in his handling of McCain's death, or is a supporter or Nazis by saying they had some 'good people' ... its all subjective.

There is no connection to Assad or Bin Laden as Kaepernick has done NOTHING to promote or encourage or prod along violence against others ... just the opposite.

According to what I just read, in addition to his apparel and shoes contract with Nike they also just cut him a big check to be in this marketing program

So it would appear he is making a profit on his protesting

Ironic isn't it? He is profiting off of supposed oppression. He has become what he has been supposedly protesting!

He led a really oppressed life living in a million dollar home with a white family and had the best schooling in the country.

He really didn't go off the deep end until he started dating that wackjob whos whole family is in the Muslim Brotherhood. He was a bit of an arrogant a$$hole when he attended UNR, I met him several times but he was never this big of a douche until he started dating the terrorist.

no more ironic than him being blacklisted (losing income) over peaceful protest.

He still has to make a living and unless someone knows that he KNEW that this would 'profit' him when he did it, ... who cares?

He did it at great risk, and sometimes, that saying 'with great risk comes great reward' ... is actually true.

Nah. when you get paid for your so called protest you are then selling it

Cheapens the entire concept.

What this is is a marketing project. To generate sales... for Nike. that is the bottom line. Marketing. And money. No different the a athlete on a T.V commercial selling his or her name or face.

But you seem well informed on Colin so why not take us thru a week in Colin's life. Where is he protesting this week? What shows or radio is he doing to " spread the word" ? Must be busy .

Don't tell me that the guy is just sitting home waiting for more ways to sell his " cause"? Nah..he has to be doing more then that. Right?

So what is he doing this week? Or next week?..or actually..any week ?

kills you doesnt it? ...lol

he doesnt have to only or always 'protest' ... there are many ways to take action and he is continuing to do so, through legal action, through donations, through programs for at risk youth ...

.... keep running the ball Colin ...

Sports are not to be a place for political opinions or protests

The Olympics are a great testament to this, people from around the world show up to compete, not protest and certainly not to disrespect the games.

Some that see Colin as some kind of hero do not grasp the spirit of sports

Huh?
I seriously say...HUH?
The gesture had NOTHING to do with disrespecting either America or the Anthem.
It was a very fine and respectful... (Clever if I might ad) demonstration of how "Afro-Americans" were treated by the police...That's it.
THAT'S IT!!!
Why make it into something else???.......... That it's NOT??

It's actually a f"funny" comparison to the South African, Africaans white population.
They are about 9% of the population... 5% concider themselves Africaans.
For those that doesn't know. Africaans are of dutch origin and are white people that kept the indiginous people down for centuries.
NOW!
Now...... they feel treatened.
No effing *hit.
They've killed more indigenous people than they were living in the country 100 fold. Now they feel afraid. Settling in small communities.
Orania is one of them. AAAll white.
Apartheid all over.
Some will say, of course, the indigenous are killing us.
Wouldn't we all.
Isn't that what the europeans are saying in America?

(Was America originally white)

really?

In 1980, 62 countries led by the United States of America boycotted the Moscow summer Olympics after the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan on Christmas 1979. The decision was not one made by American athletes. It was made by President Jimmy Carter and the decision was one of the least popular ones Carter ever made during his presidency.

Jackie Robinson was once enemy number one as well ... old bigoted traditions die out ... the next generation isnt as stiped in 'customs and traditions' ...

While we would not all personally choose to protest in a manner identical to Kaepernick, we respect and honor his choice, and whole heartedly join him in stating unequivocally that BLACK LIVES MATTER. The current state of affairs for people of color in America is unsustainable and unacceptable. According to analysis by the Washington Post, black people in America are two and a half times more likely to be shot and killed by police than white Americans. Far too often, people of color are dying at the hands of law enforcement personnel in the streets, our jails, and their homes. Indictments are rare and convictions are essentially nonexistent.

This status quo outrages us as men and women who raised our right hands and pledged to defend, with our lives if necessary, a Constitution that proclaims intent to “establish justice, insure domestic tranquility,” and “secure the Blessings of Liberty.” Those ideals are simply not being upheld for all Americans.

As veterans, we implore all Americans to find your own way to challenge this status quo and advocate for “a more perfect union.” Your method of protest may not be to refrain from the traditions surrounding our national symbols, and it doesn’t have to be. You have the same right as Colin Kaepernick to choose whether and how to advocate, a right we support and served for. However you choose to use your voice, please do so with an understanding that many veterans do not condemn the protest of activists like Jackie Robinson, Colin Kaepernick and everyday Americans seeking justice. Indeed, we see no higher form of patriotism.

"Why should I go to war against a people that did me NO wrong, for a country that treat me as a second rate citizen.

dont stay gone too long, I also have had privileges revoked ...

but its safest to stay 'on topic'

so lets get back to Colin ...

It starts with Colin Kaepernick. The free-agent NFL quarterback came to the South Side of Chicago last Saturday to hold one of his Know Your Rights Camps: full-day youth seminars that Kaepernick organizes, funds, and emcees. Already staged in New York City and the Bay Area, with more cities to come, these are not open events for sports fans, the press, or random people. Their aim is to speak directly to black, brown, and economically disadvantaged youth, invited through local community organizations, about history, nutrition, legal rights, and financial literacy. As Kaepernick said to me, “Every city has grassroots resources. Our goal is to raise awareness about those resources and help young people access them to empower themselves and the people around them.
