Andrew Cuomo is a career Politian who is in it for one reason... himself and his ego. Being from here there are things he has done which were done for no other reason then to stick it to someone.
case being: Cuomo has had a long standing resentment for the mayor of NYC Bill DeBlasio ( both democrats). DeBlasio can't stand Cuomo either. Cuomo has sent 250 state troopers into the city to do tasks such as look for toll beaters on the bridges and tunnels and to issues tickets. Before this state troopers were never in the city... never ( weren't needed) The city of N.Y has over 46,000 police officers, including bridge and tunnel dept. police ( Port Authority Police ) it did not need 250 troopers. The higher up of the N.Y state trooper department complained about this move so vigorously that one of the highest ranking directors resigned.. because of Cuomo's decision. their complaint, a very valid complain was that the move of 250 troopers to a city that doesn't need them will take away from the patrols in the rural areas upstate.. which it has. State troopers are very highly trained and are a total waste sitting in a patrol car at a bridge looking for toll fare beaters. It is common knowledge here that Cuomo did it for one reason and one reason only.. to stick it to DeBlasio.. So highly trained troopers were taken away from protecting upstate residents to feed someone's ego |

That's the Democratic platform in general, they are anti-American. This is why they go out of their way to protect MS-13, terrorists, and import socialism/communism ideologies which they know do not work but they want to destroy America from the inside.
Did anyone catch the 2009 vs 2017 illegal immigration speeches by Cryin Chuck Schumer? In 2009 he was pointing out it was illegal and needed to be stopped when Obama was president, but then under President Trump he said it was mean spirited to stop them from coming into the US as his crocodile tears formed in his eyes. When Democrats were asked to join in to reform immigration, Cryin Schmucky again spoke up to say just have President Trump sign an executive order, despite in 2017 saying only dictators use executive orders to accomplish their goals. How about the Ohr emails and notes? Anyone see those yet? Ohr from Obama's DOJ was caught being the go between man to set up President Trump. His wife works at Fusion GPS and he was passing notes between her, former MI6 agent Christopher Steel "the author" of the anti-Trump dossier, Sydney Bloomenthal aka the REAL author of the anti-Trump dossier, Hillary, former AG Loretta Lynch, former CIA director Brennan, former FBI director Comey, former FBI ranking member Strzok, and a ton of mainstream media members. They were all co-conspirators in an attempt to take down a President who ran on a pro America platform. |

i have never held any particular opinion about cuomo. he's never really blipped on my radar.
having said that, as a political matter, for an actively campaining politician it was a rather foolish way to make his point, and OP may be right that it costs him dearly. but, to ignore the point that he was making is to just stick ones head in the sand. there are reasons the united states is losing standing in the world and we need only look to our past and present histories to figure it out. protip: it's pretty obvious. america, and individual americans have done great things in this world, and continue doing so. but, america, and americans have also been guilty of some egregious errors. acknowledging them is the best way to put them behind us and become even greater...striving for the "more perfect union" we claim desire to be. |

I don't think he is that different from any other politician. The first few year of his election you didn't hear a peep from him, he sat up there in Albany pretty quiet. Feet up on the desk type life.
Now elections are coming up and he is all over the t.v. here. toting this and that.. making bold promises. taking on current issues ect, ect. They are all the same. But he does have a "sinister" edge to him.. spiteful edge. |

Andrew Coumo just shot himself in his perverbial political foot by telling a crowd that America was never that great. Stick a fork in that guys career cause he's done. I wouldnt be so sure. I mean, words are only as meaningful as their context and there is alot of political power in aligning yourself with sentiment of your base. Look at how Mexicans still voted for a guy that said Mexicans are rapists and drug dealers. Sweeping generalizations sometimes can be seen as having contextual relevance or truthfulness by some. |

I'm always amazed at how so many have been deceived by the media thinking Trump is a racist. He never once said ALL Mexicans are rapists and murders, rather the facts dictate there are some illegal immigrants who did not stop at breaking one law of unlawful entry into the US but continued by breaking other laws, this is why they are supposed to be vetted prior to coming across the boarder. President Trump also did he say ANY Mexicans were "animals" .. rather he was asked about MS-13 gang members who are from El Salvador, not Mexico. We need to keep in mind that even Democrat Schumer said in 2009 that illegal immigration was a major security risk to America, then he flip flopped in 2017 simply because President Trump was doing something about it. We then got bombarded by pictures and videos about how poor the facilities were .. from 2014 Drudge Report when Obama was president, but it was blamed on President Trump. There have been more recent photos and videos including a walk through of the new facilities being used since President Trump took office, they look more like public schools than detention centers, but the main stream media will not show those images. They are lying to people out right, and it is pathetic!! |

Sweeping generalizations sometimes can be seen as having contextual relevance or truthfulness by some. proof of how adjectives can change context and relevance for a base. Trump said 'some' were decent. Cuomo says not 'that' great. each side will take it as they decide to. But supporters will generally look past potential offensiveness to point out the small adjectives that give it that justification of not being offensive to the whole group. And that is my point. the base portion that were latino looked past it. Just like the base portion of Americans who support Cuomo and are 'patriotic' towards America will look past it as well. And again, Trump supporters dont seem to mind when HE says whatever the crowd wants to hear, whether he believes it or not. so, back to my point, you never know how these things will turn out or how people in one's base my view them as opposed to others. |

See how easy a distinction can be made to excuse or justify? Remember how in 2008 Trump said Hilary would make a great president but 'flip flopped' once he ran to say how terrible she was? This is the Trump quote about mexican animals: Trump: "We have people coming into the country, or trying to come in — and we're stopping a lot of them — but we're taking people out of the country. You wouldn't believe how bad these people are. These aren't people. These are animals. And we're taking them out of the country at a level and at a rate that's never happened before. And because of the weak laws, they come in fast, we get them, we release them, we get them again, we bring them out. It's crazy. PEOPLE, not MS 13 members. Now, I can see how it can be poor use of the language or clarification, but opponents pick apart these kind of statements on BOTH sides to create animosity and, by doing so, more bonding of those who embrace animosity towards the same groups or individuals. |

WRONG!! If you watch the ENTIRE video, and not the media clip which omits the question which put it in context of MS-13, then you would correctly understand President Trump's response .. YOU are victim of the EXACT thing you are complaining about. You misunderstood it because you were fooled, look it up. If you can't honestly look it up and see you are wrong, then that is YOUR problem. Good luck with your disinformation, but the reality is not what you are saying. Watch the entire clip but NOTE at 2 mins 5 seconds the Sheriff's representative brings up the problem of MS-13 and how they can not legally deal with them .. then comes the quote your brought up in the context of an MS-13 discussion, perhaps instead of being misled you should watch the entire segment. Also read the comment section on YouTube, everyone calling the media FAKE NEWS for their misleading edit of the discussion. This is one of the last remaining copies on YouTube with the context leading into President Trump's response due to censorship of truth. Watch and be amazed as your false reality is shattered. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tmT7-dhOWs |

I had actually read a transcript of the exchange, to get the full context, and it matches the video. I noticed in her whole question, she MENTIONED an MS 13 hypothetical. The president did not specify MS 13 in his responsenor any of the other things she mentioned, (and mentioned more often than Ms13). So, like I said, it is an easy statement to be picked apart as is the 'not that great' statement about America. When Obama was asked directly by a reporter if he thought racism played any part in people opposing him and he answered in a directly relevant way that it could be a reason SOME oppose him, the other side ran with it as saying that he had somehow ignored any legit complaints to say everyone was just basing their opposition on racism, which he did not say. Both sides do it, which was my point entirely. Picking apart things without context or relevance is not something either side is innocent of by any means. |

I comprehend just fine. Logic is not prejudice and ignorance is not bliss. We should read to understand one another not just for the sake of finding an argument over something. |
