When just one marriage partner works outside the home, then it is understood that the money earned by that person belongs to both marriage partners. That money is used to provide food, clothing and shelter for both marriage partners.

To me feminism means anti misogyny, or should mean that. What does feminism mean to you personally? Would humanism be a better word for anti misogyny than feminism?

Once upon a time I think the need for the so called "feminism movement" was needed today honestly I see this quip being thrown around when someone pisses in some else's cherrio's to the point I am sick of the site of it.
I find this a catch all for what ever a persons agenda is.

I do believe in equal pay for equal work.
To many times I have seen though where a woman has screamed I am a woman and not being treatedly fairly.. I need these exceptions etc...

I personally love being a woman, I raised my kids by myself due to my husband passing away.. I worked damn hard in my career and I also have enjoyed the company of some damn fine men in my life whether socially or academically.

I personally am sick to death of labels. I feel as a whole society has so many labels on people that we tend to forget we are people... All trying to do our best in this world.

Sorry wasn't trying to rant just one of my pet peeves...

Teeee-rific! Sometimes we get so busy defining our lives that we postpone living them. For some, the 'idea' of what was a positive and necessary awakening has become a way of life, an ongoing confrontation that gets in the way of tolerance and progress.

Riffing on Jessica Rabbit, 'We're not all Neanderthals, we're just drawn that way.'

The feminists should have told the men/government that their economy should stop excluding them/half the population for their important work. Somehow those guys could have figured out a new economic plan and everyone would be happy today.

I do not know what it's like in the States..u.s.A..... but women here in Canada are treated equally.. for the most part.... I do not think women have to fight very hard for equal rights anymore... sure there are still some old holdouts.. dinosaurs.. that want to make women jump through hoops.... but they are slowly dying off..

.... another 10 or 20 years.... and who knows we might even let you be president...lol

Yes, similar over here .. but still it isn't always easy..
I know for fact that sometimes they prefer to hire a young man over a young woman, because they know at some point the woman is going to get pregnant and will be entitled to maternity leave. Then they will have to hire a temp .. hassle, extra cost, blablar.

I have also noticed that women in higher positions often have become very masculine, as in real tough a-hole biotches. They have to toughen up in order to survive among fellow male directors and managers. To be honest, I rather deal with a male employer/manager than a female.

I also know that over here there is a growing tendency for a more feminine approach in companies, by which I mean the emphasis is shifting from ego, status, faster, faster faster and lots of stress to having consideration for the individual. Happier employees = healthier employees = less sick leave & burnouts = costing society less money.

huh So, if one present-day feminist isn't happy, then nobody is happy?

yes crystal we have been following this plan for some time... happy employees... there's a point you realize we are all human beings..
we have home stress children get sick..... it is more about safety and.. making good decisions.... the safer and better decision-making employees you have.. the better the overall picture for your company ..
... it's not always about the bottom line.. in today's age is about perception... companies wish to align their companies.... with companies that give a f***..lol..

All of the "isms" have been politicized and the words have been turned into labels for various cartoons.

You can't say "Liberalism," or "Conservatism" or "Feminism," or anything else, and have any two people agree on what the heck you are talking about.

Most of the times these days, when I run across the word "feminism," it's because some guy who can't manage to fool anyone into sleeping with him, is claiming that it's all because "feminism" forced all women to dislike him.

That, or someone who wants to pretend that "feminism" is why some pet political nonsense they like, gets ignored by everyone else.

"Anti" people can say the most bizarre, delusionary things. Any day now, I expect to see the headline "Feminists made me eat my neighbors dog for Independence day."

all I know !!is unless you have young children at home.. both parties need to work.... for a lot of different reasons financially.. socially... and own sense of self worth....

.... housework.. can always be shared..
. if I was home first I would start supper and do some dishes...

. and vice a versa... easy peasy..

Then women should be paid when the children are young.

we can all see why your single...whoa

Yeah, great new trend :) I was thinking of offering my services to (small) companies to help create happier work environments, both the "Feng Shui" type of stuff as coaching. But then I didn't finish my coaching study... and it never happened * story of my life * Maybe I should just sell brilliant ideas, haha

Getting back to the original question, feminism is OK when it is about gender equality regarding legal rights and pay in the labor market.
