All I've done last couple of months is make paintings for others, finishing those off, varnishing etc. Got a bit fed up with that and yesterday I finally started a brand new canvas.. something I want to paint for me myself and I! Feels great!!

Lots of work to be done still, but always happy when I've done some work, so going to share it. Work title "Out of the Woods". Part of a "sequel" I'm doing on me, started that in 1986, even though I didn't know at the time it would be the beginning of drawing & painting my own development.

Another 1-2 hours work, I'm still learning to do skin tones, think I'm finally getting the hang of it! Always kept me from painting people, getting skin tones right ain't easy.

Need to work on minor details when it's dry, hair is also no way finished, but dang, I'm happy with the result so far!!

One more update for today: the dress worked out really well, so I'm very happy :D
Sleeves will be for another day, they're very wide sleeves. Still got paint on the palette but my neck has had it for today.

Done the other sleeve, her hand and the owl. I wasn't happy about having to paint an owl, but he was adamant about being in the painting
The hand and owl need a bit of work still, but I'm real happy with this update!

The tree-roots and shadows etc were done a few days ago. I love the shadows, I usually don't do those, too much hassle But must admit it does add a lot to the overall picture!

Done some more work today

Ended here last week, has to dry now before I can continue with her hand etc.

Made the path a lot lighter and the moss on the stone to the left a lot darker so it stands out more.
