Before Christmas I done a 13,000 mile round trip to visit a friend I met on here and on Friday 1st March I am going again. Sure it's expensive but hey live for today, sometimes tomorrow never comes.

I would definitely want to, though I'm currently held back by the usual limiting factors. But before any of that, first I actually have to find a girl worth such a journey to make it a life goal to go see her, no matter what it takes. I'm particular interested in the east-asian countries, though I have to ask how difficult would it be to go there from the Caribbean? Does anyone know, at least from this part of the world to get there?

Hey Athena, having a better time this time round might be difficult, my last visit was awesome. There are some incredibly beautifully minded people in this world and I have been blessed with meeting a few.
I cant wait till Friday when I will be setting off to meet my good friend in South Africa, which incidentally all started with me sending a hug on this site. I believe life is about no regrets, its too easy for people to say "that's to hard" or "thats to far" most things in life are possible with a little effort and a lot of willpower. The bottom line is if you don't try you don't get. |

I have done it in the past,,it was a huge mistake but I knew deep down that it would be a mistake but I didn't go with my gut.
Yes I would do it again if I was certain that he was the one |

Yes I would do it again if I was certain that he was the one hi cuddlebunny, I'm glad you don't let one bad experience discourage you from following your heart, even if your gut says no, don't do it... I'm sure the next time you will know how to handle things differently... |

Also, Athena, I can hardly afford to fly around the world. Everything is going up in price these days. My government like to hike prices up on EVERYTHING, making everything more expensive every year. It depends how much money you can afford to spend. For mega-rich people, it will always be much more possible. Then when Easter, birthdays, new year, and christmas come around, you have even less money left to spare. Then there's the rent I pay, and electricity and water bills, and groceries to buy.

Yay for coffee :D Which type are you having? Would have replied sooner, but my stomach seems to be having one up on me, in the last few days. lol. Yeah, it's uncalled for, when they keep putting prices up. Though, I don't regret having to buy my pets toys and food. As they are great company. They never fail to make me smile. Even in my sleep. lol. When you're feeling ill, or down, it can make the day brighter. |

I have traveled in the past to Alabama & Colorado to meet someone.... Humm they did not work out but have to admit I did have a good time...
Now days I'm more apt to travel for friendship only..... How far as far as my money will take me.... As far as love well I'm looking local on that part anymore.... But for friendships distance is not a factor just have to plan it ahead of time... Actually have meet several from here so far longest drive think was 7 hours getting to them..... |

We connect with some pretty awesome folks here on Mingle… knowing that platonic friendships can be closer and last longer than some personal relationships, we’re here also seeking out souls just to bond with as friends… and once we do, how far are we willing to go to meet in person? I have an 80pd male dog that I can’t leave at home while I’m gone, so if I traveled to meet a new friend, I’d have to bring Hammer with me… also, if my new friend lived across the country, because of my deteriorated spinal condition, I can only drive about 8 hrs at a stretch before I’d have to stop and get a room to rest… but, I would drive my car and pay for our expenses to make the round trip… To what extent would you go too, if you really wanted to meet and spend time with a new acquaintance? I would go wherever they were or bring them to me if they were my friend, or if we had something more. Friendship to me is the ultimate and I love traveling so that works well for me. While I have only met one person from Mingle (local) in the past from other sites I have traveled the country just to hang out. my apologies, toxic, I don't know how I overlooked your reply... but you seem like a very kind and good friend to have... |

I would do the same thing for friendship... the world is never to large to connect with hearts we really relate too... so long as the expense isn't a factor of course... |
