You can disagree, spider. However, from what I've seen, children are taught to hate. Many learn it from their parents. not always, spider is right on this... while most hate is taught from their surroundings, some kids are just born with it. with the singing kid here however, i feel it was taught to him from the church itself, but that is what they believe and were taught by their parents. I can agree with this. |

I think it's obvious that the kid didn't even know what he was saying. I doubt he has any emotions behind what he was saying, other than pride for the attention he received. I'm sure he didn't know what he was saying. But, with the praise he received, he's learned that singing that song was a good thing. And that's where it starts. |

For what it is worth, I am not happy with the way that some churches approach the issue of homosexuality, because they offer no message of hope to people with homosexual feelings.
My online book has chapter titled "Hard Questions About Christianity". Here is an excerpt from it: 7. Can a person be both a homosexual and a Christian?
Answer: Yes. According to the New Testament, a person has salvation if that person confesses that Jesus is LORD and believes that God the Father has raised Jesus from the dead. Nowhere does the New Testament say that a person has to be a heterosexual in order to obtain salvation. When Jesus died on the Cross, he paid for the sins of heterosexuals and homosexuals alike. Thus, God’s gift of eternal life is available to both heterosexuals and homosexuals. This is why I do not approve of what happened in that church incident mentioned in the OP. |

Luke 24:47 47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Ezekiel 33:11 11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel? 2 Peter 3:9 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Matthew 3:8 8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance Matthew 11:20 20 Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not And last but not least, I think this last verse hits it on the head of what I'm saying with these verses. "Repentance for the remission of sins". Mark 1:4 4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. |

God offers forgiveness of our sins, but not on a level of going out to murder someone, then asking for forgiveness, then turning right around and doing it again, then asking for forgiveness. Then turning around and doing the same thing. And not even on the high level of murdering someone, but sin in general. Stealing, lying, ect. |

And this is why is WRONG to judge others...it's hurtful. Everyone who is saying the homo ain't gonna make to heaven needs to take a good look in the mirror.... if one were to go down the list of 'sins', they would also have one, at least. The bible constantly speaks of judging others...he who is without sin cast the first stone. If people are going to preach bible scriptures, then follow them all...therein lies the hypocrisy. |

It depends on what sideline you're on if you're on the pro-gay side the bible verses are interpreted as one way if your anti-gay then bible verses are interpreted another.Basically whatever side you're on you're going to interpret it the way you want.

There's only two commandments that a Christian must follow. Love God with all your heart, mind and soul. Love your neighbor as yourself.
It's so simple. |

There's only two commandments that a Christian must follow. Love God with all your heart, mind and soul. Love your neighbor as yourself. It's so simple. I wonder why the commandments arent just two,,,, but Id say those are important parts of being Christian,, and loving God does include action as well as emotion just like loving each other is not just a word, but is followed with action,,, |

I wonder why the commandments arent just two,,,, but Id say those are important parts of being Christian,, and loving God does include action as well as emotion just like loving each other is not just a word, but is followed with action,,, Yes there is only two commandments one "must" follow. -------------------------- Mathew 22 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. --------------------------- But with following these two, one will follow the rest. If one loves God, one will obey what he has told us to do or not do. Yes we will make mistakes from time to time, where our great God offers forgiveness. But on a general rule, if one follows just these two commandments, one will follow the rest. |

It depends on what sideline you're on if you're on the pro-gay side the bible verses are interpreted as one way if your anti-gay then bible verses are interpreted another.Basically whatever side you're on you're going to interpret it the way you want. On the contrary, if you are on the pro-flesh side, then you will refuse to acknowledge the Bible verses which describe certain behaviors as being sinful. If you are on the pro-spirit side, then you will acknowledge those same verses, even if your flesh desires to engage in the sinful behavior mentioned in those verses. God-fearing people acknowledge the constant feud between their flesh and their spirit, which is why they sometimes try to be on both sides at the same time. They admit that their flesh tries to resist godly discipline. Sadly, even god-fearing people can feed their flesh to the point that their conscience becomes seared, preventing them from acknowledging that the Bible describes certain behavior as being sinful. To make matters worse, people who are not god-fearing will criticize god-fearing people for being god-fearing. In 1 Peter 4:3-4 the Apostle Peter wrote, "For the time that is past suffices for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry. With respect to this they are surprised when you do not join them in the same flood of debauchery, and they malign you." (ESV) |

they believe something different from you, and who is to say that they are right or wrong? they do not deserve respect for their beliefs, like you deserve for what you believe? however sick you think it is, thats how sick they think being gay is. No, they do not deserve respect for their beliefs. Nor does anyone have to respect mine. In this country we are only legally required to allow them to express and practice their religious beliefs. And I have the right to publicly say they are sick and wrong. i see... so your right, and they are wrong... glad you clarified that for me... maybe you start a war or a fight over it, since you are so right. but you are a hypocrite, since you seem to think everyone has rights except for those you don't agree with... Where's the respect for her beliefs??? She didn't ask for, nor demand respect. "Respect" was your idea, so that makes you the hypocrite for not respecting her beliefs... i never said she was wrong for what she believes, i said she was wrong for not letting others believe what they want. can you see the difference there? i'm guessing no, because we are even having this conversation, but i'll try one last time... You'll have to keep trying... She never said she wouldn't let people believe what they want. You changed "respect" to "belief" as if that makes your claim any stronger. Fact is, you called her a hypocrite for not "respecting" other's beliefs while you do not respect hers... Re-read what she wrote and tell me if you can see the difference... Probrably not... |

Can you show us all where Ruth said that everyones beliefs deserve respect? If not, she's not a hypocrite and deserves an apology from you. |

Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind,as with womankind:it is abomination.
Leviticus 20:13 If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads. --------------------------------------------------------------- So i assume Muschristews will come up with a story on what they think this really means even though others will take it for what it is.So lets just say that this was written from mans point of view (which the bible was),wouldn't this be judging? |

It's not specifically "judging". That is how God told us he feels about homosexual actions. That's not judging anyone, for all sins are forgivable. So just because one is a homosexual doesn't mean they are not going to Heaven. For we know not of that judgement, is soley up to Jesus Christ. It's a judgement, it's not so left and right as "Do this and you will burn in the lake of fire" or "Do this and you will have eternal life" ect. It's a judgement given to us by our God. |

Oh. I thought the title of this thread meant that no homosapien was going to Heaven. There is still much about you humans that I have yet to learn. Humans: Best Way To Handle Them For Dummies, Simon and Shuester, $11.95 at Barnes and Noble. Having read that book helped me save my space ship's black box and virtual lover, and to lose only seventeen of my forty-eight real lives. |
