I use God's standard, so you're right, it would be futile for you...

In an earlier reply, you state that you use your own heart and conscience.

God works with your conscience and your heart.

If your conscience is seared, and if your heart is corrupted, then how do you know if it is God who talking to you? How do you verify?

How do you verify?

Your conscience wont' be seared, your heart won't be corrupted if you have given God your heart and you listen to what he tells you. You will obey him and love one another. No greed, no pride purely in oneself being greater then another, no hatred.

A glorious comforted feeling inside. A clean conscience, fruitful actions that follow. It's hard to put into words the glorious feeling of God.

A written standard is just that - a standard. You compare other things to it in order to determine if those other things are accurate.

A feeling? Feelings are subjective.

Jeremiah 8:8
New International Version (NIV)

8 “‘How can you say, “We are wise,
for we have the law of the Lord,”
when actually the lying pen of the scribes
has handled it falsely?

I compared and found some things in the Bible to be pure BS...

??? They handled it falsely, as in they used the word of God in the wrong way, possibly to gain more power or even wealth maybe. What here exactly is BC?

homosexuality is wrong and a sin, read the bible

it may have been more politically correct to sing that aint no rich man going to make it to heaven,, as that is easily recognized as a bible verse and wouldnt be assumed to be 'hateful' towards rich men,,,,

the use of the term 'homo' was not acceptable as it is seen as derogatory,,,

and it singles out one specific group (although I dont know what the REST of the song was and it may have actually mentioned more than homosexuals in regards to Romans,,,)

the bible does declare several different groups that wont make it to heaven (without turning from their sins)

9 The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the Lord; and what wisdom is in them?

Reading the next verse, I gather that the scribes were writing things saying it was from the Lord. Again, possibly to gain more power and or wealth.

Revelation 21:8
King James Version (KJV)

8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

See you all at the lake!!!

There is a bigger issue here.

obviously nature intends reproduction

obviously two individuals of the same sex cannot physically reproduce together

obviously homosexuality is against nature

obviously for homosexuality to occur nature must wish to eliminate a species

obviously nature tried to eliminate homosapiens several times

obviously homosapiens defeated the plague, hiv/aids, syphilis, and many other diseases polio etc.

obviously nature approaches the elimination of humanity by reproducing homosexuals reducing the amount of homosapiens through this process

obviously god would be for natural intention of reproduction methods rather than against them as well as mother nature

Homosexuality does occur in nature. Do a little research on animals. Many species engage in homosexual behavior in nature.

yea, right... if species engaged in homo sex, then they would be an evolutionary dead end. the ones that do are just going through the motions, not being gay, but not being able to control themselves. so are you saying gays cannot control themselves? there is no animal outside of humans that can be considered gay, meaning they only have sex with the same sex...

Nowhere did I say they couldn't control themselves.

you said some animals engage in homo sex... why would they do that? obviously they are not gay, so what would be the reason? because they do not know any better, they feel an urge and act on it without thinking... have you seen a male puppy hump another male dog? the other dog will snap or bite at it, teaching the stupid puppy what not to do. IMO, there is no way being gay is a natural thing, just people acting out on urges they cannot or will not control.

this defines most modern casual sex,,

people acting out on urges,, claiming they have to or should or cant help themself,,,,

...sings a little boy at church and gets a standing ovation.

Awwww, ain't it cute to teach hate!!!

http://www.lgbtqnation.com/2012/05/church-on-lockdown-after-toddler-sings-aint-no-homo-going-to-make-it-to-heaven/

What we have here is a straw-man argument.

No teaching of hate has been proven, just assumed.

I might disagree with what the little boy sang, but I would not claim that what he sang was motivated by hate.

When people wish to live according to the desires of their flesh, they reject anything that denies them what their flesh wants, including the teaching of a religious text.

Should anyone dare accept the teaching of that religious text, then that person will be accused of hatred even if the person has no hatred.
what about those who taught him?
Were they motivated by pure brotherly Love?

That's just terrible. frown

Seriously, what is wrong with these people?

Finally...the voice of reason!!! slaphead

Let's just say for a minute that it's true....that homosexuals are going to hell. Is this something to be happy about? These people are laughing at the thought that someone would burn in hell for their sexual orientation. It makes me sick.

(No, I do not believe homosexuals are going to hell. I was just pointing out how truly sick this is.)

they believe something different from you, and who is to say that they are right or wrong? they do not deserve respect for their beliefs, like you deserve for what you believe? however sick you think it is, thats how sick they think being gay is.

I think you missed Ruth's point...

And you can't really say this person or that person is going to hell, this type of person is going to hell, ect. We will be judged, not sentenced. We all fall short of the glory of God, we are all sinners. No big sin, small sin. All but one sin is equal. Thus why we are not to judge nor condemn another for their sin(s).

its interesting that there is such a strong belief that 'not making it to heaven' automatically means going to heaven,,,,

even amongst 'atheists',,,,,

they could be motivated by what the bible SAYS
although HOMO is not a word used in the bible

(or even in existence at the time of Romans)....
