there is nothing wrong with gay people it those that are afraid that there own sex life is in troblem and so that is why a person has to keep some other down to make them feel right and eveyone is wrong that is not what god in mine when he made every one in his own way so if we are to get rid of gay people and who will be net are we going to have to go back befor world war 2 and live in fear i say no to it just stop and think befor you say something i am a member of clergy against hate and when you say thing that you dont know about then you are in the wrong so my freind please rethink what you are saying

well, you can't let these things hurt your feelings either. people are going to hate something, gay, white, black whatever. it would be nice if there was no hate, but the fact is that there will always be some kind of hate in the world. if these people want to sing about gays going to hell, how is that affecting anyone? the more people show attention to it, the worse it gets.

if we are going to go around and tell everybody how wrong they are about things, then we are no better than them. your own mind decides what your right and wrong is, and not everyone is going to agree. in their minds, they are thinking they are just a right as you think you are. so what then? a war, a fight to prove who is right?

That's just terrible. frown

Seriously, what is wrong with these people?

Finally...the voice of reason!!! slaphead

Let's just say for a minute that it's true....that homosexuals are going to hell. Is this something to be happy about? These people are laughing at the thought that someone would burn in hell for their sexual orientation. It makes me sick.

(No, I do not believe homosexuals are going to hell. I was just pointing out how truly sick this is.)

So, it is the laughter that you object to. Now that I understand. I would not have laughed.

I am still waiting for someone to address my last question.

What standard do you use to determine what is moral and what is not moral?

After all, the topic of this thread pertains to morality.

So, yours is a subjective standard. Well, at least you are honest about it. Thank you.

For one I have no problem with homosexuals. Secondly, yes those that just have sex for purely the pleasure are just as much in the wrong and against God's commandments.

The Bible is replete with examples of loving God fearing couples have sex for pleasure. You really need to stop preaching and read your Bible. I won't respond to you any further, you are wrong and that is all there is to it.

EDIT: I see that your position has evolved to allowing sex for pleasure between married couples.

Written by whom?

Isaiah 51:7
King James Version (KJV)

7 Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.

Jeremiah 31:33
King James Version (KJV)

33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Hebrews 8:10
King James Version (KJV)

10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

I don't need any book that was corrupted by Romans telling me what is right and wrong...

How do you know that those verse you quoted aren't "corrupted"?

Yes for a MARRIED couple. And it's not purely for physical pleasure, it is enjoying one another, sharing passion and love with one another. Their bodies now belong to one another, they are no longer their own. But please do enlighten us where the scriptures condone just flat out rawr lustful sex.

Whether I use the Koran, the Tanakh or the New Testament, the standard that I use is independent of my heart and my conscience.

A person's heart can be corrupt, and a person's conscience can be seared.

Anyway, it would be futile for me to discuss morality with another person if that other person is not using the same standard that I am using.

...sings a little boy at church and gets a standing ovation.

Awwww, ain't it cute to teach hate!!!

Hate comes natural, it doesn't have to be taught.

I abhor the message and behavior of the people, but I fall on the side of freedom.

The way I see it is this: It's always better to know how people really feel, so that you can be more selective about who you associate with.

Psalm 37:30-32
New International Version (NIV)

30 The mouths of the righteous utter wisdom,
and their tongues speak what is just.
31 The law of their God is in their hearts;
their feet do not slip.
32 The wicked lie in wait for the righteous,
intent on putting them to death;

Is the NIV "approved" by you?
