I think in general, women are smarter (craftier) than men. Why do you think that is true? I think this is an unbelievably offensive question. What if I asked if everyone thought white people were smarter than black people? Do those of you who agree with the OPs premise not know any men in your life who are intelligent, caring, decent men? If you do not, then I feel very sorry for you. And it makes me wonder why that is. |

Back in the dark ages, the Catholic Church would kill women who showed any signs of thinking for them self and being outspoken or questioning the status quo. This is just simply not true. The Catholic Church did some pretty horrible things in their attempts to force Christianity on the world. There is no doubt about that. But they did not specifically target women who were independent thinkers. I'm assuming you are referring to the various periods of time when witches were found and killed for practicing witchcraft. I will give you the fact that more of these are women than men but that's not relevant to why they were targeted. Witch hysteria has nothing to do with gender and men were put to death as well. Lots of men. A few, very specific, men stirred up a great deal of fear and hysteria about witches and witchcraft. They equated it to devil worship and making pacts with demons. They blamed all kinds of societal problems on it. More women than men practice witchcraft because women are the natural caretakers of the family and the village. So when they began to arrest people for it, it was more women than men. As far as disagreeing with the Catholic Church, the Inquisitions were equal opportunity executioners. I'm not talking about witchcraft in particular, but the routine killing of heretics, men and women were included. I can't remember where I read that, so I can't really give any source references. I do know that women in the suffrage movement and women fighting for the right to vote were jailed and mistreated. |

As for white people vs black people... that would be racist. |

There was a sect of Jesuit priests whose job it was simply to kill heretics. That is what I heard. It was a long time ago. So many people were killed because of their beliefs. People who did not believe that Jesus was a God were simply slaughtered. Sects who worshiped the Goddess were also just slaughtered. |

We are not debating whether or not the Church killed heretics. That's a given. You said they killed women for being independent thinkers. If they kille men and women you can hardly say they were targeting women out of a fear of them. |

If woman are smarter then men where have all the major inventions came from that has so impacted society, why do men almost always excel in the fields of science, medicine, engineering, mathematics why is it the most brilliant minds in the world belong to men, such as Einstein, Gates, Jobs, Bell, Edison, woman have all these freedoms because of the inventions of men, men for the most part still dominate the world, and don't underestimate the advantage of having superior physical strength.

Woman have played a major row in society, men and woman both have their own individual talents and gifts, one is not smarter then the other, we are just wired in the brain a little differently,this will be my last comment on this subject, because I am smart enough to know I will never win an argument with a woman, LOL
