drives me crazy when I hold a door open for someone and they can't even acknowledge you. Do I look like I'm getting paid to be a doorman? so what you're saying is that you would like to be acknowledged and appreciated in some way; like a head bob, thank you, or perhaps someone grabbing the door and letting you go first? Or maybe you should just stop holding the door open for others. I could let it slam in there face...yes. But it is common courtesy to acknowledge people even a head bob That is sooooo tempting!!!! Gonna' be a good boy! |

here's a crazy secret most people don't know. If you stop trying to be the most awesome person out there doing everything polite and taking it to heart when others don't do the same, you just simple stop and I promise ya.. they will actually do things for themselves. believe me I've struggled with this myself, asking why people don't care enough, but it helps to just do what you feel good about, and if it makes you angry, just don't do it. if you didn't leave the door open for them, they would wake up out of their trance and open the door for themselves. |

well I do it because that is how I was raised not to please people, but to be courteous. It all ties in with lack of common courtesy of some people in this world. It's more of the principle

Well, what I do in such a situation is say very loudly, "I'm sure you meant to say thank you to me holding the door open for you. You're welcome". One sticks in my mind. She had her nose so high she would drown if it rained. She nearly knocked me down while I was going out the door and she was coming in. But instead I said "you're welcome". She looked at me and said "I didn't say anything" I told her "my point exactly". Hey...at least the people in the store thought it was funny |

Among other things...my neighbor throwing her still burning ciggie butts down on our shared driveway - dry leaves there too! And me with two ashtrays a few feet away! So laziness and disrespect are on my list. They moved so...

what is it that people do that gets you annoyed??? for me it's rudeness and thoughtlessness of others with an air of superiority Mostly ingnorance, arrogance, stupidity, bad hygiene, messiness, etc. |

People who puposely try to hurt another, bullies, rude, hurtful, mean-spirited people. I actually feel sorry for those people. I mean....IMO they must be very miserable themselves. Possibly, but I don't feel sorry for them. I just stay away from them so their negativity is nowhere near me. |
