Ummmm, aren't we taking about welfare recipients? I don't know any rich people who are on welfare. Well actually I did know of one, but she was abusing the system. I don't know whose post I originally copied, but my comment was a general one and wasn't really posed to the poster specifically. Besides, who says that they are indeed pissing it away?

Your taxes go to road repair too, don't they? What happens if you don't drive; should you still have to pay? Your taxes go to education as well. What happens if you don't have children? Should you still have to pay? My taxes go to hospitals. What if I don't get sick? Should I get a rebate? Hell the government gets paid through my taxes and I think THEY are surely pissing it away, with salaries, benefits, and bonuses, in addition to programs that I think suck.

The answer is obvious, resounding YES, you should not be taxed on anything you do not use!

Only those who ever are using welfare, must pay taxes on it. I should be able to waiver out of it, if I never used it, and sign my refusal to ever use it.

Of course, if you wish to pay and not use, that is your choice.

using that logic well if you want the welfare then it's your choice right (you should definatly have to take a drug test)

Ludicrous thought that we should be able to sign out of taxes for things we don't use. I feel that is self centered to even think that way.

Besides, you will probably need one of the services you waiver out of at some time in your life so the restriction would end up over turned in the end because people made stupid decisions to waiver out of something they might need someday. We can't have those selfish folks doing without in their old age or disabled state now can we? And then it would be unfair to all those who paid into it like an insurance policy all their lives because their share would have to be split further.

I recommend all that have an issue with it, stop paying taxes, no income tax, no sales tax, no FICA, no social security taxes, etc... Stop paying taxes in protest. How else can the protest be noted? If they lock you up, refuse to pay any taxes on your money received in jail cause they do that now too. Quit *****in' and stop payin' what else can you do?

This is not true at all. I would feel violated by a job that drug tested me or a government that drug tested me and I am definitely square when it comes to getting high. So I could understand their opposition.

There is a lot of fraud and abuse.

what is wrong is that Cannabis is essentially put in the same category as some other drugs.

It may be illegal but it isnt as damaging or impairing as proper class A drugs.

If im tested for using crack i would lose my job just the same as i would if i was tested for weed.

I can honestly say that even if i smoked a big fat Bob Marley right before i began my shift, i would do just as good a job as if i hadnt. Weed just doesnt affect you all that much. If you disagree you probably dont smoke it and should be quiet.

If you get tested for weed in your system, you shouldnt be classed as a drug addict, employed or unemployed.

Well, some day my dear. Majority will decide for the greater good to test you everywhere and for everything. Try to remember not to feel violated then.
