Friend of mine sent me this in an email. As you can tell, he's pretty frustrated. Opinions anyone?


I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes, and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit.

In order to earn that pay check, I work on a rig site for a construction project. At any time I am required to pass a random urine test, with which I have no problem.

HOWEVER, what I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them?

Understand - I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do on the other hand have a problem with helping someone sit on their butt, drink beer and smoke dope.

Could you imagine how much money this country would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?

If you agree, please pass this along, or simply ignore it if you don't. Hope you will pass it along though, because something has to change in this country.

Well, at the rate things are going, there wont be. The system was developed originally for retirement.

You may have good reason to draw social security and if your dope is for medicinal purposes, great.

I have my own personal issues. My husband died when my son was 15. I could only draw on his SSN till my son reached 16, which was about 9 months. I was grandfathered out because of the ones that are collecting, that barely paid in.

So you see, someone somewhere gets hurt here, but Im not going to rant and rave. And please dont say, "Oh you will get his when you retire" because mine will be larger by then and what he put in just gets eaten up by the system.

I'm not sure about America, but is it legal to smoke marijuana if you have a doctor's prescription that it is used for medicinal purposes? It makes sense to me to do so.




Could you imagine how much money this country could save if we didn't have multi-tiered governments with more funding alloted for administrative purposes rather than on the actual programs?

I'm not saying anything. It isn't my opinion on this. I just got it in an email and thought it would make for an interesting topic. I would like to know where you got your statistics from. I would like to read them myself.

anyone taking urine tests are doing so by their choice

it is illegal to force anyone to incriminate themselves

and it is considered an illegal search and seizure

If you signed up for the job knowing that a random drug test can be given at any time, it's not an illegal search and seizure. You agreed to the policy by taking the position after being properly informed of the companies drug policies. You would have a hard time keeping your job if you told them it was unlawful and weren't going to take the piss test. Declining a urine test at work while knowing full-hand that the drug policy states that it could happen at any time is usually grounds for termination.

It's a choice that will lead you to the same conclusion... unemployment. Actually declining will likely get you fired. Most places any more will give you a pass on a first offense depending on the circumstances. Depending on where you work, you may be better off pissing and failing.

Bullsh!t. You do not have to go for the welfare. You can opt to live off the savings that you have made instead of wasting your earnings away, when you worked. If you do, however, you should have no problems with the test.

And dope smoking welfare recipient is not a stereotype only. This is the only shape I know them being in.

Once you start receiving welfare, you are required to be working or going to school.

Being unemployed or poor does not mean that you are sitting on your butt, drinking beer and smoking dope. That's a stereotype.

Here's a question for you. How much money do you think it would cost to administer the urine tests?

This is an easy one, Winx. None. Zero money.

If you want to receive the dope check, you have to pay for the test out of that same check.

I would add some more tests to it.
