Yeah, the bible is kind of old, and is probably due for some revisions. Divorce isn't acceptable either, yet more than 50% of people are fine doing that these days. Personally, I think it should be made much more difficult for people to get married or make babies to begin with. Like couples counsellings, written exams including lengthy essays about why they want to marry and how they plan on making it last. THEN there should be a marriage probation. You should have to survive married life 5 years before your benefits kick in. I think that if these rules were put into effect, less people would jump into ****e they're not ready for. the bible needs no revisions, it is still as valid today as it was when it was formulated Um, no. Not really. It also used to be a deadly sin to eat pork. This was because people didn't have the means to cook it at a high enough temperature and they actually did die. This is just one example. yes it still is it has nothing to do with temp... if you actually read the scritpure it says not to eat animals with split hoofs, also how come it says not eat chicken? they used to eat it back then and i know if you do not cook chicken all way you could easily gte terribly sick... pork is unclean because of the fat... do your homework... it also says not to eat shellfish(crab lobster shrimp) because they are bottom dwellers who eat anything.. lol you must read the bible before you quote it... my religion doese mnot eat pork, in fact most are vegitarians Do your homework.... it IS about cooking pork all the way through as it has similar bacterias as chicken....ever heard of salmonella? Do your homework, no red crayon for you! where in the bible doese it say that? it says pork is unclean... i know any meat you dont cook all the way you will get bacteria poisoning... but thats not what the point of that rule is... in the bible it states that pigs are unclean animals It said that pork was unclean because people who ate it died of trichinellosis. They didn't know it was because it wasn't prepared properly. They knew that if they ate this meat, the got sick and died. |

gay marriage is an abomination to god, although im no diffrent than the next sinner... i dont agree with it and i defo wouldnt recommend it but i would treat those kinds of people with the same humanly respect that i would anyone else.... but i wouldnt hang out with someone whos gay it just goese against what i believe, just like i wouldnt hang out with a drug addict, i dont agree with the lifestyle at all nor do i trust em....lol This is the sort of ignorant & obtuse rhetoric i am quite sick of hearing. BEING A DRUG ADDICT IS A CHOICE & BEING GAY LIKE ME IS NOT. Ive known since i was 2 yrs old that this is who i am. Tell me something are you aware of the fact that the percentage of suicides is highest in gay & lesbian adolesant kids? Know why? Being met with ignorance& hate & not love & understanding. You are sooo lucky to be straight eh? Good for you that ur life is so perfect. My God loves me & i am happy with who i am& thats all that matters.

What do I care? My Uncle Becky seems to be quite content with her life. Good for her. What they ought to out-law is unhappy heterosexual marriages. I noticed that the Bible conveniently left out unhappy regular marriages from the text.
If a couple of butt-pirates or muff-divers can be happy together....I say, more power to them. Not like the Homosexuals are gonna start out breeding and over populating the planet. Live and let live. Point of context: Name all the unhappy and bitter Homosexual divorces that you can think of. Now, list off all of your friends and family members who have had a divorce. Which number seems more f&cked up? When you find yourself not wanting to post a reply....then take that weak assed Holier than thou God crap to the religion thread. California is dealing with this issue and it's on the ballot if Gays should be allowed to marry. A few years ago, the voters said no, however the courts overturned it based on constitutional rights...) Per the Constitution ( A person cannot be prevented from the pursuit happiness...as long as it's legal). I agree with that....therefore I'd have to support, Gay Marriage. What are your thoughts ??? Don't care, if they want to get married...let them, not my place to say what one can do with their own 'free choice'...*cough*BS*/cough* |

My half brother is gay ( and no he's not half a brother BECAUSE he's gay....lol ) and the way I see it, him getting married to another man would have exactly zero effect on MY personal life, so why on Earth would it really matter.
If being married to another man is what makes him happy, who am I to deny him that? |

i think marriage should be between a man and a woman but i have no prob if the could have civil unions that would give them the same rights as married couples

I think there are several ways to view this topic but I have only ONE GOOD ANSWER.............It's none of my business.I'm still wondering (WHO) has they right to tell 2 people in love that anything they do Is any of our business?....Seriously....

What I think a lot of people skip over in the whole issue is that marriage is a bonding of not only two people but two families endorsed by the community. When you deny marriage to a group of people you deny marriage to all the people who love them and need for them to be a part of the institution. I know most young people think weddings are all about them but they are hugely important to siblings, parents and grandparents that dream of the person they love joining the ranks that they have joined. LOL and it isn't always about misery loving company. Traditions can be adapted but they are still very meaningful to people and how they accept transitions.

To an extent, I see your point Star. However, I never hooked up with a woman contingent on what her family, my family or the community thought. After all, no one else with an opinion was pitching in for bills, living expenses , good times, hard times or anything else. No offense when I say, if you find love...screw what anyone else happens to think about it. If they ain't helping thier opinion is meaningless. Try paying a bill with morality and good intentions....won't get you very far where I am from. |

almost all of my guy friends are gay and several are married and honestly they're happier than a lot of the straight couples I know... Who are we to deny them the same rights we receive??? I believe I was once told we are all gods children and gods children no matter what ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation should never be denied the rights they were born to have.

when two people fall in love than they should be able to get married if you dont like something or someone thats fine how ever everyone should be aloud to live there lives the way they want and with who they want we should all learn to be kinder and more caring to one another
