without Adblocker
(allow the illegals in)

if you are using Firefox then the following steps
for 1 session ad free (at least ads on top margins)

In Firefox right end corner
1. Menu Tab go to Developer (spanner)
2. Click on Developer --> gives drop down menu --> select Inspector
This opens 2 new windows at the bottom of M2 web page
Both windows contain html script.

On the left side Window (larger window with html - (call it adw1))
Top ribbon has Inspector tab (in ribbon)
Below it is another ribbon containing tabs

3a. select the tab with something like iframe#google_ads to it.
In my case it was:
iframe#google_ads_iframe_default_top_xyz (xyz are numbers)

3b. click on this tab (and smile)
the ad in M2 window should get a curtain of blue over it
and (smile again)
within adw1 --> a segment of the html script gets highlighted.

4. Click somewhere on the highlighted scrip (in adw1)
(it remains blued)
5. press delete.

a major Ad frame should disappear.
close the inspector window

it stays ad free for one session only.

F.y.i. Adblocker was sold out to Google last year
but that's another story.

Disclaimer: not html guy;
just a mechanic type: but it works cause:
with html pages nothing on your disk crashes
it may rain a bit in Google's Cloud though.
--xx--

Once you get the hang of it
then one can wade into the script

Now ads have a way of returning after some time slaphead
may happen when you move forums <--> topic (back n forth)

to make sure you get iframe#google_ads tab on the ribbon
(may have disappeared)

6. drag scroll-er down in adw1 & hover mouse over script

as you do so at some point the ad gets a flicker of the blue curtain
7. try to pin the line where the flicker occurred.

once done,
7. the iframe#google_ads tab appears on ribbon
rest you know:

8. click on iframe#google_ads tab
and the relevant html code segment gets highlighted

9. click on highlighted code, delete.

10. once you have 2, 3 pages freed,
using back arrows (left top) reduces the incidences

not fool proof but something.

why are we here?

if we keep God (and religion) aside
then some partial answer could be in: evolution.

still ongoing, isn't it?

"will you walk a little faster?" said a whittling
to a snail,
There's a porpoise close behind us,
and he's treading on my tail."

Lewis Carroll,
Alice in Wonderland

i think we are treading on the tail of AI
(but on looking back a hundred years from now,
today's g_child may say, "it is the other way around")

and one may laugh today as if this were a Hollywood dream:
the symbiosis: AI enhanced natural man

but OP's question will not go away; a 1000 years from now.
"why are we here?" slaphead

Consider this out-of-the-box view:

Problem is what America does today, the World tends to follow
tomorrow. By World i mean other countries leaders and influence rs

Not the World media - the BBC and The Guardian opine and behave
exactly in line with US media. So does Indian media.

Till yesterday, the World generally favored the Democrats.
Mainly cause, Democrats are 'seen' as not being 'trigger happy'.
Mr. Carter, Mr. Clinton had reinforced these impressions.

In last few years; World's situation changed drastically:
Global slump (Wall St. trigger), Greece bankruptcy, the Rise of China's Military (N.Korea), ISIS and there could be more to come.

Hence my 2 cents:

If Clinton, then she maintains present status-quo (at best).
translation: debt increases; eventually tipping to point where dollar
slides. imagine World economy getting re-pegged to the 'Yuan' or
Euro. For Americans, starts eroding your exports.
For developing countries like India, uncertainties due from currency
fluctuations. The only institutes that prosper then are banks &,
W.St. again!

if nothing else, Mr. Funny Face is a negotiator - a person who can stand in another's shoes; discuss options.

For example the Wall:
Logic says, Mr. Trump may go for multi-level perimeter intrusion
systems; like airports do. Contract will be awarded to Lockheed Martin; and when things like this start happening, the House starts
to come together.

Why leave the Mexicans out? They could take some of the work;
may be perimeter leveling. Payment? They could get to keep
the used equipment; as part payment. Quite normal in construction
sub-contracting.

The nice thing about the debates was Trump increased his choices for
his Team. Chris Christie, Ben Carson, Palin: all Presidential material. The World got to see them; and respect them.

With Hillary & i may be totally off base here, we don't see
her Team. Just Mr. Clinton; & he's older now to hang around
campaigns. (Hillary, overlooked this; a big mistake)

The World met Hillary as Secretary of State; and earlier Ms. Rice.
later Mr. Kerry. Big differences, Hillary never came through as
Obama's mate - for good or bad. The World can only conclude that
Hillary was running her campaign even while Secy. a scam??

With Mr. Trump, the World can get back into business.
A handshake is a deal.

Mr. T may have several weaknesses but among his strengths is
his versatility to relate with different audiences. He won't try
to fit the World to America's framework; instead he may rework the
frame itself, to fit us all in!!

At one time, World had similar expectations from Mr. Obama;
in fact he made some great starts; but then didn't expanded on it.
Maybe because he didn't have time; or delegated it or some other.

Now before you people say it, i will. The World does not get ruffled
with what's happening inside our House or our neighbor's House.
These are all predictable and not economy changing. If China goes
broke, or Europe grows broke; the effects can still be contained.

For instance, India has given some reconstruction aid to Afghanistan.
But India cannot deploy a peace-keeping force there without an okay
from the UN even when the Afghan government invites us to do so.
It has to come through the UN and US controls the UN.

thanks & please carry on.

Without facts they are the same.

quite unreasonable for Op to throw a one liner.
anyway having got involved here's my pitch.

'faith' seems to have religious connotations to it.
institutional: parents, church, school teachers, courts,
Bible, science, marriage..
unshakable in the long term

'belief' on the other hand seems more subjective and changeable
like first impressions, falling in love, trusting a politician, newspapers, dating..
or getting mesmerized by some ancient mythical pronouncements

seems like there's one tough step from 'belief' to 'faith'.
both of course are fallible.

aaargh; how i hate these one line openers.frustrated

dad,
best thing for me would be to go down with a bullet
you had a family to say 'goodbye'
not that the family 'really cared' at the end...

i don't have a family; at least they all already hate me
thank God
best thing for me, a bullet
nothing dramatic (i may beg to live)

a drink of wine, laced
watching the river go by
and nodding myself to sleep.

and saying, i tried but, sorry.

He was a manager, retired and became a yoga teacher
he had his first fall; when a car backed into him' at 75.
in bed and back to his feet; telling us all 'check Gita'

he fell some 36 times
shoulder cracks, hip cracks n what not..
in bed and out 35 times

36th was when he was carried upstairs when the city was flooded.
house was flooded
i met him after the flood.

finally i told him, "Accha (Dad) i won't be seeing you."
he nodded.

yeah i just have been to the hospital 3 weeks ago
it was a female doctor
when i got undressed, she should just check the necessary places. and i was expecting her to do it quickly, and with no sense as she probably was doing it a 100 times a day.

she looked at me, looked. looked...
she said how nice shape i had
then she said, oh you have a slim body.
look at those hips..

i thought o oooo??

i left the hospital, told about her behaviours to mum. then in the afternoon to get the results i went there back with mum. my mum made her speak a few sentences.. and when we left mum said "she definitely is lesbian"

lol

Tribu,
That one is funny!
flowerforyou

Lots of time true stories are funnier than those made up.

my dearest,
i don't think she was a lesbian (never mind if she were)
she need not have said either way,
all she had said was you are healthier than what she has seen.
and for that you drove your whip???

Butribu, you scare me!!!
