You know the sensation walking under a tree and suddenly birds flutter out? That's what i felt here reading.

Not exactly.

Birds of different feathers, Man.
No common theme connecting them.
laugh

Nice little gems though, originals, for a first post.

Welcome to Mingle2!

I enjoyed the read.. No matter where it ended up in the thread!

The feeling she shared are wonderful and refreshing,in an age where electronic saturation is king, it is hard for anyone to communicate openly and honestly..(let alone in real life) The written word has no sound!
let alone grammar and punctuation..

What comes from the heart touches the heart, a valuable lesson I have learned. Her letter was purely from her heart..when we meet folks like that in life there is an attraction,a security a feeling of trust. you know that person is a "Good Soul" and I would bet a thousands dollars to your dimes she has had a world of hurt/trauma in her life.. Or maybe she hasn't. are people born that way? I was not..

I took a different route, But I'm blessed because I know both sides of the coin..I know what it's like to be a selfish scumbag and the feelings that come with it.. I'm only a human being I am not nor will I EVER be perfect.. I'm glad it worked out for her and she found someone who she can trust..and open herself to them. she knows who she is and what she is willing to show the world who she is.. That's what makes her so special.. In the meantime if folks dislike her or try to hurt her she has no part in that.. other than moving on because she knows who she is and and what she put out there.. Worry and regret! weigh us down..

keep moving try to be as honest as possible and don't regret the past..

agreed. this one stays like a phantom in the mind.
oh, well.

by the way what's with kids and dinos?
are kids turning to Calvin?
looking at parents/ teachers as dino's??

On second thoughts, NASA may take a two prong approach:

1. With selection from Peru

2. With aero-ponics, they might as well go with the best,
Idaho variety.

Just visualizing, a farm mission to Mars.

With the Peru variety, NASA can avoid using mechanized diggers,
you know: Dig, Filter out the rocks, Replace the top soil...
all that's bypassed. slaphead

Just cannon - spray out the seeds.
Place a dome over it.
wait for a week,
Pump in a bit of oxygen
wait for 3 months...

except for the domes, rovers could complete rest-of-labor.
-might as well cover some 200 acres..

The tubers are from Peru's mountain region...

The experiment, which began in January, is taking place at Lima’s International Potato Center (CIP), a nonprofit research center aimed at achieving food security...

For the experiment, researchers hauled 200 pounds of soil from La Joya Pampas, a region in the Atacama Desert known for its similarities to Martian soil, to CIP. Now, they are testing each potato to see if they are capable of growing in such harsh, dry conditions. If they aren’t, the team will attempt to infuse the soil with nutrients and also try using aeroponics, where plants are grown in a moist environment without soil.

Josh Hrala who wrote the article ends with..
"Perhaps potatoes might be one of our tickets off this rock."

Ursula Andress,,,

Definitely throw back.. If it weren't for google and a hint... I would have had to have gotten out the ouija board and ask grandma

Mr. Trump has sold a second condo in Trump Avenue for 14.5 million.
When asked about it he said: "The brand has never been stronger".

haha, the only candidate making money while running for President.

Not true. Hillary is making speeches earning approximately $200,000 a pop, Senators Cruz, Rubio, Sanders and Governor Sandoval are still earning their full salaries and not doing their job to busy campaigning.

You have a right to do your job while campaigning, no law against that, but you failed to mention Mr. Trump has actually lost money running for President, a lot of money.

agreed, but hey we speak within the jokes forum.

on a semi-serious note, there are a few things i don't get,
like Mr. Trump married over 3 times.
but as my daughter wrote to me: relationships cannot outlast a lifetime. so, what do i know; still this flummoxes me; and so a lot of people out here in the orthodox world.

In retrospective, Michelle is such an endearing person.
worth dying for (just an expression, if you don't mind)

well then, we are not looking for Mr. Perfect are we?
just a guy who will stamp out nonsense (Muslim, non-Muslim; just tip of iceberg); so that our kids move forward.

i think its time we let go this thread cause...

there was no 'tactic' mentioned

just a statement of the mainstream mentality when it comes to extreme behaviors and sensational news

well if the intent was to turn the tide,
unknowingly it shapes to tactics,
and pretty soon it gravitates to strategy
and so on.

I'll admit not being sensitive to the priorities within USA.
But outside, we badly need an antidote to what's going on.
The fact that Mr. Trump speaks his mind is rain on the desert and a joke to PC choking world leaders.

An American citizen swaying world opinion. Amazing.

As you may recall, he sent a message to Madam Merkel that her unconditional 'open gate' policy laudable in spirit was inadvisable in the manner practiced.

fits the bill.., but she's about 10 years younger to Stallone. proves, we guys hate to read profiles(?)

ok, a clue from why did i select this one picture?
(many obvious factors, but as a PC here..)

recall Della Street?

she brought a charm to the Perry Mason show that kept it going..

well the lady in question launched (to my thinking) launched a production that has kept going; although the producers have kept shortchanging the ladies...

let's say this to be the second last or last clue.

Sassy, i must say, there's such an amazing resemblance to the Queen, i spilled my drink.

Anyway, the joker who drew the picture, had a different person in mind.

Her Majesty, Queen Noor (Noor, means light, i think)

a clue: in her yesterdays she was an actress,
a decade older than this guy

this may come as a surprise to members, i happen to be halfway expert in dome construction

what is a geodesic dome - one of few in India.

the Geodesic concept - American is right!
but i was the *** marked to build the first cliff hangars (domes) in India - Himalayan foothills. and Himalayas are 'shale rocks' not the kind one could pin an anchor bolt on...

haha, 2 months after completing the job, got sacked by the new company finance director cause i hmm, ego.., having achieved something on those heights!!

shows how poor-ful finance directors can be.. oops offtopic
story is some 10 years now.

getting back, those glass shell domes retain all heat. skin burn is nothing on those heights, in summer.

Conclusion: it's a very hot n dry soil on which mars potatoes would grow!

For once NASA has taken a holistic view: cultivating potatoes in / on Mars. It's like being neighborly rather than rocket out to some earth-like-planets shortlisted to some 22 in some distant galaxy; but the nearest one being some 22 light years away. NASA's confidence is based on their work in Peru.

the image of Mars that we all are familiar with: rocks and dust and add to that NASA's recent admission: their are salt deposits in them canyons and hence water's presence exists (although in a form we may not quite like).

The first four questions that spring to (my) mind are:
1. why just potatoes?

2. how may acres do we need to cultivate before sending people there? (determines the biosphere diameter)

3. Does NASA have to ship rodents (or kangaroos if one is fussy) who will feed on the tubers and be next level source of human feed?
(the fine thing about rats is that they can burrow into the soil and escape radiation).

meantime NASA also has a wacky set (liberals) they cannot ignore:

recently, somewhere i read
An analysis of data obtained by the Pathfinder mission to the Red Planet in 1997 suggests there could be chlorophyll - the molecule used by plants and other organisms on Earth to extract energy from sunlight - in the soil close to the landing site.

blimey! one of best kept secrets NASA till date.

then i chance to what is sexiest expression on life..
A pigment found in plants, some algae, and bacteria that allows these organisms to catch sunlight
This energy is used to drive photosynthesis, a process that converts carbon dioxide and water into the simple sugar glucose
Photosynthesis is the starting point for nearly all life on Earth
It is the great abundance of chlorophyll in leaves and other tissues that makes plants appear green

again for my liberal friends,
if red is color of passion, green is color of fertility...
offtopic, alright .. alright.

4. obviously land required to Terra-form for 100 people consumption of potatoes (baked, fried, chips) for a decade; the diameter of the biosphere farm:

and if any member would like to expand on the bio-sphere,
i happen to have hands on experience building a few in India.

they are hot because we are a narcissistic , selfie culture

we draw to the negative and sensational,, and we have one of the most negative and sensational mouthpiece we have ever seen actually leading thousands of sheep to place him in the most complex and important office of the land

aah, explains a lot..a tactic..,

balloon this thread, expand it and thereby
lock in Mr. Trump to the 'funnies' and thereby
get Republicans to think Ted Cruz and thereby
Clinton improves her chances in the greater debates.

and that seems to be the Clinton strategy..

A few days ago in Reno:
..I want to figure out how we can do that with Republicans. We need to get that dog and follow them around and every time they say these things like, “Oh, the Great Recession was caused by too much regulation”: arf! arf! arf! arf!

Uncannily like a Yorkshire terrier.
imagine what Bill faced at home, after the Starr Report.slaphead

one of our estimable members asked this question in a recent thread in Science forum and as i think it echoes in some of our minds, i quote:

is the reality I dream of any less valid than the one... that I spend my day walking around in..?

and i chanced into a site for spiritual readings and found these verse..

It says:

There's a shadow on the window,
Shaped in the outline of a rose,
Leaves and thorns,
All along the length of it,
Real as a shadow but not as a rose

it moves although never touched,
By the wind

Outside the real rose,
Glows in the morning sun.

ok, lets say your interpretation of 'only' is accepted, for now

just curious,
just why do you think this 'primaries' have gone so hot?

the Pope is involved,

UK, members of the House of Commons,

the Prince of Saudi

Mr. Putin

worldwide media spinning like tops

the unofficial list is larger, ISIS and so on

hot, hot, hot
and this is just the primaries!!!

Is it 'only' because of the Wall
or is it because Mr. Trump is coercing the Muslim countries in a "barbaric" manner that they understand thereby facilitating an implosion: they start taking on their home bred ISIS and not sit back and enjoy the show.

considering that Mr. Trump was emphatic on the Iraqi war being a 'fat mistake'; seems to me that there's a larger strategy ensconced within the 'wall'.

JaiGi's photo
Fri 02/19/16 12:44 AM

operative words,, 'only'

a person who 'only' thinks about walls

a person who 'never' thinks about bridges

,,,is not behaving like a Christian

I couldn't agree more

Commonsense says, first you build a wall
then you build a strong door
and then a bridge..

For centuries, the oceans on your sides were the great walls
we don't have to go into this, i know
but allow me to complete for the record, it gave a sense of deep seated security which still 'hangs' in the 'pc' air

coming to the spin you put on the word 'only'
yes, when 'only' the job-on-hand is simply fix the wall

look around you,
the land, oceans, air, net.. have all turned to sprawling bridges..

even i can see this from half-way-around-the-globe.shades

hey look, the Mingle2 bridge..
