Without facts they are the same. I agree that they are one and the same. |

What is the difference between faith and believe?
You can believe in something without having faith in it. You can't have faith in something without believing in it. |

Without facts they are the same. quite unreasonable for Op to throw a one liner. anyway having got involved here's my pitch. 'faith' seems to have religious connotations to it. institutional: parents, church, school teachers, courts, Bible, science, marriage.. unshakable in the long term 'belief' on the other hand seems more subjective and changeable like first impressions, falling in love, trusting a politician, newspapers, dating.. or getting mesmerized by some ancient mythical pronouncements seems like there's one tough step from 'belief' to 'faith'. both of course are fallible. aaargh; how i hate these one line openers. |

Ok, good post Mcobi, but not sure if you were meaning belief or belive. I'm hoping it was be belief.
Someone mentioned that faith had relegious overtones. I don't agree. So here are the definitions; Belief is the state of mind in which a person thinks something to be the case, with or without there being empirical evidence to prove that something is the case with factual. faith complete trust or confidence in someone or something. So we see here that there both similar, but world's of difference. You've read the definitions. My opinion is that it comes down to the persons state of mind. Faith is down to the bone. Unchangeable. Part of you dna. Belief is something that you can be talked into or out of. Do you like this car? I belive I do for these reasons. I belive this plane won't fall out of the sky. I belive this guy/gal will make a good president/king. I belive it's won't rain today. Faith in your parents. Faith in the structure of life. Faith in your next heartbeat. Faith in air. Faith in life. Of course this is my opinion. Please continue. I could be totally wrong! |

"What is the difference between faith and believe?"
I keep telling the bartender to have faith that I will pay my tab after I get my next check. Now, I believe I'll have another drink. |
