depends on the situation AND who I'm speaking with..

if I'm having a discussion with a partner/friend and say NO.. I could be persuaded to sway my decision IF met with a logical argument..

however.. if I'm talking to my kids/grandkids.. NO means NO!

justifiably so.. however in essence, she kind of lied by omission!

personally I would have discussed it with my partner FIRST.. so there's no surprises, hurt feelings OR misinterpretations.. unless of course it was an 'emergency'.. ie: required immediate action OR was the middle of the night.. I would have talked to my partner at the earliest opportunity though!

SHE however, should have trusted YOU enough with full disclosure! Trust is a two way street!

my ex was a jerk.. plain and simple.. he was a rage-o-holic with a side order of control freak, and a dash of BS! Once I shed that baggage, I moved forward, only looking back long enough to see if there was/are similar patterns in the new guys I met/meet.. obviously, I'm not interested in repeating the same mistake!

but not everyone is HIM.. just as not every man/woman is bat-azzed crazy and hell bent on lying, cheating, destroying (or controlling) other peoples lives... I treat each individual as just that, individuals.. and allow actions to speak louder than words!

all that to say not ALL women/men keep secrets.. I don't!! and each new person should be met with an open mind and no prejudgment!

I guess you could say I have an addiction!!

I like my 'me' time.. I've been alone for a lot of years and the only thing I find lacking at times.. is shared, intimate, laughter!

yeah.. I like the fact I don't have to worry about rushing home after an outing or grocery run cuz of imposed time constraints.. or being told what to cook, or when.. OR being constantly yelled at and told to redo something because it wasn't done right (my ex was an angry control freak!)

growing up I spent a lot of time with mom, where I learned all the 'house' things.. like cleaning, cooking, baking.. etc.. and more time with dad, where I learned how to build and fix things in and around the house.. so I've always been very handy and independent, and pretty much left on my own to figure things out.. I was also taught that you have to be your own best friend before you can be a good one to anyone else.. and after 20+ years being a single full-time mom, I'm enjoying my own company, and don't NEED to be with others if I choose not to

right now? NOT seeing any real downsides to being alone either!

that said.. if I found THE perfect guy for me tomorrow? the okay being alone part could obviously change..

I won't make a promise I can't keep.
I will say that I'll try my best, or do what I can (especially when it comes to my kids/grandkids) however if I say I WILL do something, be somewhere etc.. I WILL follow thru (unless there's some unforeseen obstacle/emergency).. as Rob put.. actions speak louder than words!
for me it's the follow thru(or lack of) that shows peoples true character!

how awesome is THAT! wow.. I'm thinking he puts a lot of himself into his acting so assume he's like that in real life? he looks very approachable!
