Sarcastic plays on words are lost on the tone deaf.

I think its ironic that Mr. Music can't carry a tune. I think its ironic that rural Menonites and Quakers who don't believe in evolution know how to genetically breed traits in their animals like wool yields or ability to withstand cold. I think its ironic that I am on a dating web site doing everything except dating.

I tried to date a girl with one leg once and she was more hung up about it than I was. I'd do something like get the car door, which I would do for anyone I was dating, and she would be defensive about it like "I'm not helpless." And just trying to understand things like if I needed to let her out closer to the door before I parked or if what we were doing was too far for her to walk made it worse. Where I was only trying to understand the polite thing to do, I guess she took it as patronizing and just wanted to be treated like everyone else. I broke my leg once and when someone would ask me something similar like "can you make it up the stairs okay?" it seemed a reasonable question at the time. But then I wasn't living with it all the time.

Don't give other people that power over you. Your happiness should come from within. Then you can meet another person and either share your happiness with them (if they can appreciate it) or keep them out. Don't look for your happiness in them, look for the one who can share yours.

When someone has only a paragraph to describe themselves or say something they think represents what they are like, I don't think they all realize what they really reveal by what they say or what they leave out or how it can represent what is or isn't important to them. You can't always control at what point someone else will connect with that....but like kharma, you can be pretty sure what will come back at you by what you send out.

I'm sure you're right, I don't read any guys profile so I stand corrected. But I am drawn to people who see things in a positive manner. If someone introduced themselves to me by saying "I don't like this and I don't like that" I would not feel I had anything in common with them or their state of mind.

I work nights and just pass the time, but this guy your talking about seems to have nothing better to do than count how many times other people in chat rooms? What a loser. I have trouble seeing this as reality though, its like communicating with characters from a book.

Getting drunk and falling face-first into the cake is one of my favorites but if that isn't tame enough then toast the happy couple but call the groom by the wrong name...preferably your real dad's or one of your mom's ex-boyfriends.

I almost don't like to join in this topic because of the hurt that people go through. I raised my daughter by myself and the hardships were all there, no one helped me, and I was too stubborn to go to the gov't for help. But I did it. So I'm poor monetarily but boy am I rich in love, happiness, and fullfillment. It wasn't easy but I realize that the abortion would have been my daughter. So good luck in the choices you make and good luck in convincing yourself of what it is you actually did. I can't judge anyone, this is just one man's example.
