By herself? Then it's completely understandable. If I get time out to myself I make it last as long as it possibly can. Maybe she got a hotel room and is soakin in a hot tub!

Maybe it was just a really good date. Unusual for the phone to be off though. Maybe it died and she hasn't realized it.

I don't think there's a set time line. It's unique to each individual. If one person wasn't happy for a long time and was ready for the relationship to be over a while ago they may be ready to jump back into the fray. Others may want to take some time out to analyze or recover. Depends on the person.

Opinions needed...

So what are you looking for an opinion on here? My daugher is ten also and calls herself a daddy's girl. He lives in NY. We live here. I don't argue. It's something they'll realize as they get older, but if you point it out to them now, you're going to become the bad guy. I would never say anything negative about him around her. I pray and pray that she will see for herself one day, and she will... I am just tired of him hurting her, and I have to take up his slack, when she asks, why didnt my dad get me a Christmas present? That is so heartbreaking for me to answer her... I do not put him down to her in any way. Gotcha. It's a tough one to deal with. I hate the why questions. I find myself having to come up with answers that won't hurt her feelings while at the same time trying not to make excuses for him. Very difficult sometimes. Lately I've taken to just not telling them anything in regards to them and we've had enough talks about him not getting their hopes up for him to have stopped. Admittedly it took a lot of threats on my part, but it worked. And my kids are now coming around to the realization that though they love him, and he loves them, he's just not the best at the whole parenting thing. In this situation you have to kind of sit back and look at it and decide what you think your best options are. Unfortunately, you then have to communicate them to him. I know that's always fun, but it should be worth it in the end if you can come to some kind of agreement. Good luck. And Happy Birthday to your daughter! |

define "independant woman"

Simple
A woman who's able to stand on her own two feet, support herself (and family if necessary), and think for herself. By herself. Though emotional support of friends and family is perfectly acceptable. |

I think that was a terrible rule. They still have it down in Alabama and they do it in front of the entire class! Though they say they're taken to a different room and there are witnesses, but I never heard of it working that way. In my opinion if you humiliate a child like that in front of their friends, it's only going to cause them to act out further.

Yeah! I like how it started out as rain, then turned to sleet just so we could get a bottom layer of ice! But it's okay, it'll hit 60 again in a couple days.

Gods rath?

If your concern is that God did this horrible thing to the sons due to the sins of the father, if you read The Bible, you'll discover that the Old Testament will raise a lot of questions that can really make you think WTF? I know I certainly did. Finish the book. Or read the book for that matter! It's supposed to be the best book ever written! And then you can answer your own questions without having to rely on the biases of others. Finish the book? The Bible is not just one book. It is a bunch of manuscripts put together. It is a collection of books and stories. JB I'm well aware, thank you, but since it's all combined into one tidy little package that I can buy at a store as one book, that's how I'll refer to it. And just for the record, it's not just one part of it that's on many of the lists. It's the entire collection, noted as one book! But by all means be nit-picky. |
