For me...I look at the athiest belief in this manner: It's like a child who has never known their father (not in the sense of a Christian reborn who now knows their father...but in the sense that they have no memory of ever seeing, speaking, touching, playing with that father.) So...to that child, did they have a father? Who was their father? What did he look like? Why wasn't he there when they needed him? Why should they listen to someone who isn't there? Now logic tells that person that yes...they were created somehow (obviously) but it is impossible to put a face and a name on that creator. very good input. I really appreciate that you showed me a different point of view i didn't think of. Look who is talking here . Mary was a single mother who brought a son out of a wed lock and he was called " God " , the 'king" The " lord ", The " son of god "...etc . ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Ignorance is arrogant. You're welcome :) I spent a portion of my teenage life as an athiest (now I guess I would be..erm...agnostic maybe? dunno lol) So I spent a lot of time looking at it from a lot of different angles. :) I'm glad I could help :D ![]() |

Firstly...hello! *waves enthusiastically*
To the point of prayer and such....it's true but it's not. (I'm more like you...no real religion just a facination with religion in general) There have been cases where a person had such faith in a prayer (or other "superstition) that their body actually healed itself. (if you can give me a bit of time I could google some examples to reference later) Modern medicine has been suprised, but it's been explained that it's along the same lines of a 70 year old woman being able to rip a car door off to save her grandchild trapped within. The body produces the extra endorphines (I believe it is...I saw a special on the Learning Channel and National Geographic Channel that talked about this...again...give me a few moments and I'll google some references) providing momentary superhuman strength for the situation. So of those 500 patients...you might find a few that were cured simply because the faith of the patient was so strong they -in essence- cured themselves. Just my 2 cents :P And now I'm off to google...I'll be back in a moment with some reference links for those that need them :D |

Now logic tells that person that yes...they were created somehow (obviously) but it is impossible to put a face and a name on that creator. As to the rules...really, the "rules" of Christianity are not much different than normal moral rules. "Don't kill" "don't adulter" etc etc. So I don't believe that it is a "running away from the rules" thing as it is so much a thing that there is no real way of knowing of where we came from, who created us, etc etc until we die and finally find out. Some (like my sister) have decided that rather than "waste" their entire lives trying to find that one right religion and belief, they're just going to live their lives to the best of their ability and let their questions be answered when they die. Or they look at the history of the religion, the way the religion is currently...and decide that, based upon those facts, they just can't associate themselves with a religion that would do (fill in blank here). |

I Haven't Had a Job since October ![]() If you have high speed internet and a phone line you can get work as an at home customer service rep. Try www.arise.com! You're kidding. Like...a real job, with a paycheck and everything? (no...not being sarcastic...I just am usually skeptical of those things) *dashes off to arise.com* LOL. Yep. And the pay isn't AWESOME but it's good. Some jobs even start out at 10 bucks an hour. And you can to choose most of your hours. I read about it in womans world magazine. Only problem is that I have dial up:( lol I don't wanna get rich (at least not by some "get rich quick scheme) I just want to know I can pay my bills. $10/hr works juuust fine for me :D Thanks for the info dear! I think you helped two birds with one site ![]() |

Yeah but for ebay...don't you have to pay in first before you can get paid? I just don't have the money to spare on something that isn't a guranteed set paycheck each week. |

lol We get this question all the time :P
My answer: It depends on the forum. Some people hang out on a specific thread more than others...so on those threads they would be better known whereas on say...the general/chit chat threads, we'd have no clue who they were. Popularity is also split up between cliques....yes....JSH has cliques lol So the answer to this question can never really be answered because it'll constantly vary from clique to clique. So there's my answer for yah ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Mine have been out of school since May 22nd and don't go back until the end of August lol Gotta love summer vacation.
But I work from home currently...until I can find a job. As it's just me and their grandmother raising them...me working outside the home is tough. Especially when daycare would cost me just under $300/wk. By the time I got done working for the month...I would have essentially covered the cost of daycare. *sighs* |

This post is in relation to this one: http://www.justsayhi.com/topic/show/139536
It made me slightly curious as to just how easy it was. So...I did a hunt for my own username just to see what all it would bring up (as this is the username I use for just about everything since I was a teenager lol) The results were kind of freaky as to just how easy it was. (please note "account information" is not like...actual information. It just gives a description of the page and a link to my page on that site.) --On the first page of google web results it brought up: my DeviantArt page my Myspace page --Page 2 of google web results: my xfire account information --Page 5 of google web results: my elfwood artist account information (including real name) --Page 8 included 2 links to sites involving me, 1 being a reply and 1 being a chatlog --Page 11 provides a link to a game that I'm a manager on (assuming our stalker is truely persistent) Beyond page 12 there are links to sites where someone else had me on their friend's list (such as Gaia Online) and a person could find me that way. (for the purpose of this...I didn't go past page 20...but I'm sure several links came up for various different sites across the web) So...page 5 provided my real name, the first page provided my myspace and DA accounts (which give current location, HS graduation location, etc etc) Given that information, a true stalker could find just about anything they wanted to on me. Just thought I'd share this (my credit is crap...people are welcome to steal it if they want to...they won't go far with it ![]() ![]() |

It's Getting Serious....

well...with myspace...pretty much everyone has one lol And a lot of people use the same name (or variation thereof) on other sites....so it's as simple as "hmm...wonder if he/she is on this site as well" and doing a search for the user name. As the pics are generally the same pics as what's on here...it doesn't take long to track someone down. lol It's even simpler if you have an email address. You just do a search for it and it'll come back with a result or some msg about how there is no user with that email.
People with a lot of time on their hands and a bit of persistence can find anyone anywhere lol For that matter...you can just plug the user name into google and it'll bring back results from all over the web. I use google image search every now and then to see if any of my artwork has been stolen...it's the same principle...just instead of images some people look for other people. |
