It made me slightly curious as to just how easy it was. So...I did a hunt for my own username just to see what all it would bring up (as this is the username I use for just about everything since I was a teenager lol)

The results were kind of freaky as to just how easy it was. (please note "account information" is not like...actual information. It just gives a description of the page and a link to my page on that site.)

--On the first page of google web results it brought up:

my DeviantArt page
my Myspace page

--Page 2 of google web results:

my xfire account information

--Page 5 of google web results:

my elfwood artist account information (including real name)

--Page 8 included 2 links to sites involving me, 1 being a reply and 1 being a chatlog

--Page 11 provides a link to a game that I'm a manager on

(assuming our stalker is truely persistent)

Beyond page 12 there are links to sites where someone else had me on their friend's list (such as Gaia Online) and a person could find me that way.

(for the purpose of this...I didn't go past page 20...but I'm sure several links came up for various different sites across the web)

So...page 5 provided my real name, the first page provided my myspace and DA accounts (which give current location, HS graduation location, etc etc) Given that information, a true stalker could find just about anything they wanted to on me.

Just thought I'd share this (my credit is crap...people are welcome to steal it if they want to...they won't go far with it ) but...you might try doing the same for yourself...playing around with the search features on google. Try hunting for screen names you use and see what it brings up...pay attention to the information that they could get (could they get your current city/state? Real name? Phone number? IP address? etc etc) then search from the information you bring up. get a pen and paper...and stalk yourself. See just how scared you can make yourself when it's just you doing it.....now imagine it's someone you don't even know.

Honestly, I google myself every now and then to see what, if anything, is out there on me. Like, even this site pops up when I put my ID in google. And, honestly, when a fellow has tried to court me from here, I've googled them, not for nefarious and stalking reasons, but to get a better picture of with whom I am dealing. And, sometimes, it hasn't been pretty!! One had an account on domywife!!! Not for me, buddy!!!

searched my screen name.. it only brought up 2 things.. myspace and JSH. searched my real name and nothing that pertained to me, went through all pages

my name is common enough that it took me 20 pages before i started finding stuff that pertained to me..
in my location... i always use imaginary towns.. like "nowheresville" simply because i told a guy where i worked once and he showed up there just so he could meet me.. so i dont tell people that untill we get serious or are good friends first. but as far as my screen name.. on page 10 it showed stuff from here.. and so on.. but im not that incredibly concerned..
like you... my credit is crap!! lol they want it.. they can have it!!
