get a six weeks holiday in around 2 weeks time?? or is this just a uk thing?? if it isnt, how do you guys manage when you working, who takes care of your kiddies??

My kids are off for 9 weeks - and it started 2 weeks ago ... the fact that I still have enough brain power to post is sheer luck. Their dad & I are splitting the holidays - and they'll be spending a lot of time at Grandma's cottage ... it's definitely tough for working parents!

9 weeks, wow, that must be so hard for working parents and being able to afford childcare expenses. me and my mom look after my neice in the 6 weeks holidays. i love it

Yeah, my daughter is on summer break, about 3 months. I take her to a day care she's gone to for years. They take fun field trips to the zoo, movies, waterparks, museums and stuff. She has a blast.

My son got out of school on June 5th.. school starts back up on Sept 3rd. When they were younger they had to go to a daycare.

My son got out of school on June 5th.. school starts back up on Sept 3rd. When they were younger they had to go to a daycare. thats a long time, its about 6 weeks here. |

Mine have been out of school since May 22nd and don't go back until the end of August lol Gotta love summer vacation.
But I work from home currently...until I can find a job. As it's just me and their grandmother raising them...me working outside the home is tough. Especially when daycare would cost me just under $300/wk. By the time I got done working for the month...I would have essentially covered the cost of daycare. *sighs* |

Thankfully I am not working at this time, but I've had to mess with this for years since I have two kids 8 years apart. It's nuts!! They get about 10 weeks off in the summer and three weeks off throughout the school year. Once I get another job, though, it'll be tough as I still have one who is 12, almost 13, and it's not good for her to just be cooped up in the house alone and left to her own devices in this day and age with computers and predators!!

Thank God my day care days are over.
 .My youngest is 15.
And I had Kids grama to watch them.So lets give all the gramas a Helping all us through those child care years!!
Of corse all the sweet aunts too.
