Hello Totage,
You have 4 months under your belt, right? You are on the right track. This is real fight and it seems to me you got it in you. First thing you need in the fight is a sponsor that is 12 step intensive. Second, meetings and fellowship. Look for friends at the meetings that you can hang with. I did this early on and I found out there is a lot of fun in AA. Third, read the Big Book, that' where they hide the 12 Steps. If you need some solace, may I recommend reading page 83 and 84. The promises are mentioned in there and I have experienced them first hand. However, these suggestions are for naught if you don't work the 12 Steps. That is why I said that you need a sponsor that is into working the 12 Steps. In my early sobriety I JOINED a 12 step group that studied one of the steps each week in succession. And last but not least, "prayer" to a higher power you understand. I used the serenity prayer extensively and still do. Find some AA friends, they want to help you, because you can't keep it if you don't give it away. Fiddy P.S 22 years sober One Day At a Time.

I don't know enough about the immigration situation to make a intelligent opinion. So, I leave that to the experts that have done the research. While I don't condone II's being here, I try to see it through their eyes, also.
That poem on the plaque of the statue was written to express how others see our greatness, whether they be French, Italian, Jewish, English, Eygyption, Russian, African, Columbian, Canadian and maybe Mexican. I am curious about their not paying taxes though. From what I see and hear many of them have fake socials, so I "assume" that come payroll, taxes are deducted like everyone else. The only difference may be that they don't file their taxes every year, thereby not getting returns..... Now, I am just assume(ing) and you know what they say about that... The Bear is now in the woods.....

I was in St. Louis to visit with my kids and I flew, so transportation was a problem. I watched my son over the weekend, so my X could go on a camping trip with her "friends". Sorry, I didn't let you know, but I thought you'd be busy anyway.....

My X told me the other day that she had the thought the she could drink again... That maybe she was not really alcoholic...
She has 21 years of sobriety... I talked to her about reconsidering her thinking... She called later and thanked me for what I said to her and the actions she needed to take... Let us not forget, while were awake or asleep, alcoholism is doing push ups in the corner waiting for a chink to crack in our amour... At the punch bowls brink let the thirsty think First, the man takes a drink.... Then, the drink takes a drink.... Then, the drink takes the man (woman) It only takes one, and there is no problem in this world that a drink won't make worse.... think about it!!

Da one thing I cain't stand is a dirty kitchen when I'z preppin a meal... I'z wash da dishes dat I use to prepare wile I'z cookin' I don't complain 'bout it anymore cuz Iz livin in FLORIDA (palm trees Winx) wit my Maw and Paw.. Maw does all the cookin' and Paw does somma da cleaning... Iz cleans wat I eat off.... no worries!!!  Winx!!

Thank you all for the support, it is much obliged. winx since you apologized i will let it slide, i know you were joking, but to some people think mental disorders are funny and that is sad. There are NO disorders that are funny, than again people are morons. ACOE stand for the Army Corps of Engineers. they are the ones responsible for locks, dams, levies, flood walls, dikes, dredging rivers and most other river related things. Thanks again to every one, if I need help i know where to turn
Corn, You are right, it is a terrible thing to put down people with mental illnesses. I think that if people do put others down, it is due to lack of knowledge. I may, on occassion, make light of it - but never put down. I think it's because I have been exposed to it so much. See, my child is in counseling because Dad stands up child too much. We have a family counseling session tomorrow. The Ex is on meds and in counseling. Like I said, I have been to counseling. I have worked at Places for People. Most of the clients are schizophrenic and bi-polar. I have worked in the Psych Ward at the VA Hospital in Jefferson Barracks - with the non-functioning mentally ill and the Dual Diagnosis unit. I have a background in psych. (Occupational Therapy) - even was in the psych. honor society in college. Again, I would never ever mean to offend you on purpose.

What is a Flat Stanley? Hope all is well with you. I went to another NA meeting tonight. It was about loving one's self. I got my hugs. A Flat Stanley is One of the many advantages of being flat is that Flat Stanley can visit his friends by travelling in an envelope. The Flat Stanley Project is a group of teachers who want to provide students with a meaningful reason to write. Students' written work goes to other places by conventional mail and e-mail. Check out the Flat Stanley List of Participants to see where you can send a Flat Stanley or who might be sending a Flat Stanley to you. Students make paper Flat Stanleys and begin a journal with him for a few days. Then Flat Stanley and the journal are sent to another school where students there treat Flat Stanley as a guest and complete the journal. Flat Stanley and the journal are then returned to the original sender. Students can plot his travels on maps and share the contents of the journal. Often, a Flat Stanley returns with a pin or postcard from his visit. Some teachers prefer to use e-mail only, and this is noted in the List of Participants. Especially creative hosts send the Flat Stanleys back with pictures, souvenirs, stories and reminders of the visit. The Flat Stanley Project is a penpal activity- but it's far more than that, too.
