I think it's a bit of men, media and our own selves. A lot of time with that weight in the booty lol comes weight in the mid section. That's probably what some of us don't like. While I'm not far off from my own personal comfortable weight, I still tell myself I am beautiful because yeah...I know men like self-confidence in a woman. It is sexy! I can't stand a man without it either! yeah i agree with you the stomach part throws it off a bit but the alternative is not as attractive! But i agree i think it is a lot of things not just men! I constantly had to reinforce My ex's confidence and she was extremely beautiful and it just drove me nuts! I just don't get it! |

more often than not men don't like women that are over weight. Quite a few do tho, I'm not saying ALL. But if you put a big girl and a skinny girl in a room of men, the skinny girl will get hit on far more often. Then that leads to lower self confidence. So it kinda spirals from there. I'm a thicker girl and I'm happy with me :) I'm making changes based on what I want and need and keeping myself healthy. It took a long time tho to get high self confidence. You know i have witnessed this myself! Except i also see a stark difference in there confidence! You know i have seen confident women that where not real thin also command a room so i don't know if it is really the weight? |

I think it is at some point! I have Girls and I wouldn't want them to shack up, so I don't. But then again i don't judge others for it. Just not for me!

I have been in a few reltionships and i tend to like women a little on the heavy side. I find it very attractve when a women has a big but! When i talk to guy friends about this they are almost always in agreement with me. Yet women seem to not know this and feel self concious about there weight. So i am curious where the actual feelings are coming from? Is it trully men, maybe it's other women, or is it the media? I ask because sometimes the lack of confidence over rides the physical attraction and then it doesn't work out. So what are peoples true thoughts?

Well, let’s compare just a couple of “God’s gifts” for a minute. Intellect… when brought to fruition can generate cures for world spread illnesses, cultivate food resources for impoverished countries, and lead the whole world into the future with unthinkable technologies. (Just a few examples) Physical Beauty… when properly preened can bring forth bountiful gifts for deserving countries too…ummmm... a Trojan Horse maybe? (Sorry couldn’t think of any other way that personal beauty has had an effect on the world at large.) you know i wouldn't know i can only see your shadow. but you make a good point and women that are highly intelligent are HOT! but there is still a preference and what about people with IQ'S of 80 where do they fit in? Hey Ronny! 
If I were here to date I would post a good face picture, but don't think my looks are material for casual conversation and cultivating friendships. I hope not anyway. 
IQ's can't possibly indicate what someone will DO with their gift...so I don't understand the point of them frankly. I'm just messing with you because I found the last part of your question amusing...maybe only because of how I think of it. Of course I want my future partner to be attractive to me...but that attraction can come in many other forms. Good topic by the way. 
yeppers... thank you! I always had a thing for mommy's! I don't know why but good Mommy's are always very attractive to me! Not to say i am looking for someone to be a Mommy to my kids "they have one", but when i see a woman goo goo gaa gaa over a baby I like it a lot! I also like when a woman will have a converstaion with me about life and current events thats really attractive too! |

OMG,, a smile can make all the difference to me. Someone can look attractive and then have a yuck mouth and IM gagging in the corner. But someone else may seem average and then have a smile that lights the room and I am drooling,,lol Billy Bob Thornton,,,keep smiling,,,haaaa yeah Yuck mouth i can"t do ! But I actually met someone that was incredibly beautiful and when i met her in person she had an issue i could not get passed. One of the nicest people i ever met but i just couldn't do it! I don't know not trying to be shallow but how do you get pass something that just makes you completey not want intimacy? |

Why do people beleive that asking for someone to be attractive physically a taboo? Don't we all do it and the ones who say they don't just "hatin" ? Is looks any different than any other God given thing such as brains? Well, I dont think there are surgeries to alter your brains,,lol. Otherwise, I think it is important to be attracted to your mate and we will all be attracted to different things. Some will focus on physical traits and others upon character traits. For me, I need to be attracted to someone physically but the things I find attractive are far more diverse than just the stereotypical denzel or brad features. There are far too many pnysical details that can attract me to rule out very many,,(which is maybe my dilemma,, I usually will be attracted to anyone with character who takes care of themselve. Doesnt have to be a model,, could just be their smile.) I agree but myself a smile is not enough! |

put all the democrats on one side and all the republicans on the other what would happen? Which side would have a higher unemployment rate? which side would have higher taxes? Which side would flourish or die and which side would succeed or fail and why? What about independents and unaffiliated (me), where would they fit? Send the independants to Alaska and the unaffiliated to Mecca. After a few minutes in Mecca, the unaffiliated will want to belong somewhere else. 
Most of Alaska is for strong, Independant folks. LMAO! Still don't have a clue aye? Independents and non-affiliated have decided the political direction and every President this country has ever had. They are truly the only group in this country able to think for themselves and vote outside a party platform. Republicans attack Democrats, and Democrats attack Republicans. But, it was the Independents that saved this country from Bush and the Republican Party. I suppose you are advocating voting for clueless Palin in 2012! ROFLMAO i need to write this one down! cause i think saving is NOT what happend in fact the worse has yet to come under this president! |

just curious as to if the guy just wants a fling, why not go to bar and pick up a woman that wants the same? kinda thought a dating site was for ....dating, getting to know someone, finding out what you have in common, not for meaningless sex, if a woman sees a guy with a no shirt pic, it kinda makes them think hes just on here for sex, and maybe thats why all the guys are on here, and dont that kinda ruin it for all the nice guys? You know this question always makes me think if people understand the political proccess? The President only represents a peice of 1/3 of our goverment and that's on the federal level! So with that said when the presidential campaign is running it's always laughable when i hear people say what a president has claimed what he will do. Just on the face he does not have the actual power to make such decisions! In this case as the Commander and Cheif he does have conrol over troops, but not the purse strings and you still need a declaration of war "although already in progres"! But even the most intelligent debates don't seem to address this often enough. Only a couple of times have i seen them call them out and say "well you do need congress' support to acomplish that"! I know Bush did not get the decleration of war too! It's just that people don't seem to give credit where credit is due! Like Barney Frank and the housing debacle!

as far as Christian bashing I was taught that if you are the right kind of Christian you WILL be persecuted and bashed the closer you can get to being Christlike you more you will suffer for it. Christ was flogged and beaten and humiliated and tortured on the cross and he accepted it what you DONT do is get all militant and confrontational about it. as soon as you do that you get less Christlike and allow human pride to push him out Christians should just be thankful that they dont get fed to the lions anymore Very true statement! I am far from a Good Cristian, however raised as one i always feel the need to defend it! Not to mention they really are not bad people and most are not even involved in politics until recently! Politics infiltrated the Church as we see it recently! Before when i went to church they didnt speak of it now you see more and more of it! |

A lot of reading I've done, mostly by ex-muslims, insist Islam is a cult, not a religion and Mohammed can be seen in about the same light as Brigham Young. They made shiite up as they went along. The claim has been that there aren't many who practice the extremeisms of the quran. For just a few, they sure have a lot of power and do much damage. Islams power over women is one value some men admire and defend. The real question was not about Islam really only pointing out that people dont feel the need to come into this thread and rant and rave about Islam only Christianity! The reason being in my opinion is there is open bigotry against Christianity because of politic's nothing more! The evidence of that is based on there are few differences between the two "Islam and Christianity", stark differences yes but they are similar! So don't hate Christianity because politicians use it as a tool, just understand people have a right to freedom of religon! |

I just need to make a point here! Based on the christian bashing thread i just wanted to see how long this thread will last before banned. But we need a question as well. Is it okay to openly make bigoted statemnets against a group of people? Generalize about what they think? It's a free country yes but are people really that ignorant?
