delicate topic. it's not "wrong" though. it is just a very
delicate issue. most people can't handle it emotionally. it is too intense and jealousies easily arise no matter how secure and laid back the individuals are before a 3rd person is introduced into the relationship. usually the individuals are extremely curious and concerned about which of the relationships is closer and more intimate and...well it takes a very particular set of personalities to overcome that issue and it take 3 of them. even if you ask your partner, they may not be able to be objective and honest with themselves even if they want to let alone with you. my suggestion is airing this in professional counseling. get better advice than the internet. proceed with caution or you could majorly screw up your current beautiful relationship permanently. |

No problem. You have to know someone well before you can even
become intimate. Otherwise it is just sex. Everybody who is normal desires and enjoys sex but real intimacy goes well beyond sex and sex without intimacy is hollow. I think that "having a rule" is weird though. It is almost like "well we are on the fifth date now...now what?!?!"
So my rule is - not before I feel like I know someone well enough. That way if it feels right we can just go for it and if it doesn't feel right then maybe later.
