I have never started one of these threads, let me say that first. Second, I am in favor of personal choice and don't feel offended that some men prefer thinner women. It's all good. That being said , I have two cents - you knew I would!

Just keep in mind that not all heavy people sit around and eat bonbons and care not a whit about their health.

I like healthy food.

I have walked two marathons; and hiked all over the place.

I averaged 30 miles a week walking while training for an ultramarathon (52 miles over 3 days)

I trained for 4 months like that - guess how much weight I lost?

none.

My body just won't give it up.

Hiker the "fatNsassy idea was 1st mentioned in an e mail to you. Where I come from Fat & Sassy means healthy & happy, full of life. I meant it as a call for big ladies to start living & quit hiding. I was of course coming from my personal angle but Rose reminded me that there is the other side of the issue also.

I also included the term "most" because I know there are exceptions to every rule. There are guys who use penis pumps every day and never even gain 1/8 of an inch (me). I truly have compassion for those who try to control their weight and lose the battle

I havn't seen any "skinny" vs "fat" war. I got involved with a guy looking for "nice" who stated on his profile no overweight women & had a bunch of half naked chicks with stripper names on his friends list. & I did rag on him a bit about it. there were several perfectly nice ladies on the thread & he was ignoring us. Rose you were there from the start & I am certainly sorry I offended you, I have appoligiged reapeatly, but I never intended to be agaist any sized woman. I just wanted that man to admit he didn't want "nice" but a sexual fantasy.

we already discussed that issue hun. I didn't say war but there are some comments here where people have talked abot skinny women in relations to themselves.

several others before me have said something about this being another thread like that.

I actually addressed the eating disorder issue that no one responded to. ohwell but I kept quiet for the most part of weight threads except to tell them they are beautiful and don't let anyone tell you different...which i was ignored. after that...the only people that would respond to my questions were those that knew me from other threads....ignored by the rest. I know lindyy's intent wasn't to start that at all. She originally had it in current events and it got moved. but it becomes a beat down hearing someone mention in every thread joke about ribs sticking out or whatever.

you have been great at responding to me and so has hiker. you have both answered the barbie question...which i'm still unsure of...but for the most part...no matter what i contribute to be positive..i get ignored. and one friend (jokingly) told me it was because i was too skinny to be seen. I knew it was a joke...but even comments and jokes etc constantly become tiring and a beat down

I could eat healthier & exercise more, but even when I was mucking 24 stalls a day I could not get below 200. My body seems stuck there. I take thyroid hormones & it dosn't seem to help. I am not a lazy pig.

What I don't understand about this thread is why weight is a political issue. My weight may not be 100% my fault but it certainly isn't anyone else's fault; and I would never blame society for my own issues.

moman don't get me started, please.

I have known skinny, skinny people who eat crap all day and never exercise. No one criticises them. I think someone on this thread complained about not being able to GAIN weight. It is not as simple as you would think. I wish it was, but it isn't.

I refuse to hide in the corner watching other people dance or sit on the beach wrapped in a towel any more! I am HERE Dammit! & I am going to start living my life & if you don't like it, DON'T LOOK!

OK add stubborn & at times over sensitiveembarassed

Right My mother would force herself to drink instant breakfasts with a raw egg to try to gain.

The problem is how ignorant people are about how to lose weight, Eating less causes your brain to store fat in the body because the brain doesnt know when you will feed it again.

To lose weight, you must eat small healthy portions of food at least 5 to 6 times a day, thus the body will not store fat in its cells. then the brain will allow you to burn off calories when you excersise.

Think about it

when I was doing 30-40 miles a week I barely had time to eat. I used to carry protein bars and fruit in my backpack.
