Once again no one is trying to force anything on anyone did you actually read the posts?
....yes I did. And my answer to the question; how important is weight in a relationship too heavy/too slender is it seems to be important for health reasons. Same as other health reasons IE: smoking/drinking/drug usage/mental health concerns. It seems everyone wants to be in a healthy relationship with someone who is healthy. Right? I'm certainly not looking for a relationship with a chain smoking alcoholic hooker with a heroin addiction that hears voices in her head.

I wonder about the hormone. It seems to work for a while, then my body must adjust to it. Lab work was 400.00 last time!

Littleredhen:

Usually a doctor does blood tests at least once a year, if not every 6 months. TSH should definitely be done and T4 and good to have the T3 done - gives a better overall view of what is gong on.

Thyroid Function Tests
Normal Laboratory Values

TEST:
Abbreviation Typical Ranges

Serum thyrotropin TSH 0.5-6 uU/ml
Serum thyroxine T4 4.6-12 ug/dl

Serum Triiodothyronine T3 80-180 ng/dl
Free Triiodothyronine l FT3 230-619 pg/d
Free T3 Index FT3I 80-180

A high TSH result often means an underactive thyroid gland that is not responding adequately to the stimulation of TSH due to some type of acute or chronic thyroid dysfunction. Rarely, a high TSH result can indicate a problem with the pituitary gland, such as a tumor producing unregulated levels of TSH. A high TSH value can also occur when patients with a known thyroid disorder (or those who have had their thyroid gland removed) are receiving too little thyroid hormone medication.

A low TSH result can indicate an overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism) or excessive amounts of thyroid hormone medication in those who are being treated for an underactive (or removed) thyroid gland. Rarely, a low TSH result may indicate damage to the pituitary gland that prevents it from producing adequate amounts of TSH.

TSH TEST RESULTS:
TSH high T4 normal T3 normal Interpretation: Mild (subclinical) hypothroidism

TSH high T4 low T3 Low or normal Interpretation: Hypothyroidism

Good luck!

Walking does help. Even 5 minutes is a good start. I could only do 15 minutes at a time, now I can do 35 minutes. Took a while to build up time, but it does work.

Once again I think this got way out of context over insecurities and personal issues. You can't really change someones preference by force or demand. You may be able to influence but you can't force freewill. To try and force someone to like lemons when they really don't like the taste of lemons makes little sense. And becoming defensive over someones preferences makes even less sense. It is another tough issue. If anything being compassionate and apathetic can help. But I can't change what I don't like or what I do like easily. But people change constantly and grow. Everyone should keep an open mind. Right?

Right. And where in this thread was anyone trying to force anyone to prefer anything?

I don't care what people prefer. I have my preferences too. What I hate is people making assumptions when they don't have facts.

Someone on here admitted that a thin woman who can't gain weight may have some type of problem.

But a fat woman who can't lose weight spends all her time on the couch and gets her meals at Burger King.

So if you're too skinny, it's not your fault, but if your too fat, it is.

It's not true and it's not fair. I try harder than 90% of my skinny friends.

That is what I have been objecting to all the time.I would not want to date someone that shallow anyway; I just hate being sterotyped, just like anyone else. You don't know me. Stop thinking that you do.

I was told I "probably have Hashimoto's disease" but I think It's Epstien Barr related, pregnacy & stress seemed to trigger it "low gear". Noone else in my family has a thyroid problem, Hashimoto's is hereditary.

Littleredhen:

Oh,dear. My prayers are with you. You have it much worse off than most people thyroid wise.

But, you are doing great with the walking! Keep it up and don't get discouraged.
