I think everyone has different taste. No one size fits all. That is a great thing! I agree with that..I would prefer someone with a low BMI, but there is always exceptions. Honestly..sometimes it depends on how the extra pounds are shaped. |

i think in terms of physical attraction, weight can certainly play an important role (although more important to some than others). Peoples tastes differ as well, but as far as your question goes, i think its safe to say the overwhelming majority of guys don't like the anorexic/food deprived/skeleton look. guys like some curves. and as someone else here has pointed out, weight shouldnt be the defining characteristic of any person

I think the real lesson here is that propoganda kills. I doubt that many of these girls that are starving themselves to death actually grew up hoping they would some day have the willpower to starve themselves. In my opinion...anorexia is the symptom. Propoganda is the disease. JMO Good reply. I agree 100%!!!!! If you are beautiful on the inside-it will come out on the outside. Big whoop if you gave a little jelly roll or you hair is going grey or thinning.......someone will see your beauty and fall in love with YOU-not your image! |

No one should feel the need to apoligze if they are not attractted to you. By the same logic, we ahould not feel the need to apoligize for not being attractive to you either. |

Wow this topic just won't go away! Here's the thing I agree its what's on the inside, however I somewhat need to like what I see on the outside.I have dated 2 different over weight girls. One had no problem being who she was,and the other did.The bottom line is you have to be comfortable with who you are,if your not it could affect your partner! People stop lying on these dating sites 50 pounds overweight is not "a few extra pounds"!! I'm not saying everyone ,but I've met my share!

But to judge 50 lbs over weight you have to have a standerd ideal & who sets that? |

My take on that:
The food industry is trying to sell cheap food (or resembles food) The drug industry is trying to sell pills (this one will make you small) The booksellers are trying to sell "Diets for Dummies" (no pun intended) And The motivational gurus are trying to sell you a whole new life (self-assembly required / batteries not included) Everyone has a bottom line and maybe theirs are not necessarily in the best interest of our bottom lines (or our big bottomed pantie lines). But if any of these profiteering industries help someone to lead the life they want, motivates them to reach a personal goal, or just plain tastes too darn good to pass up, then so what? We all make our own decisions as to what we eat, how we exercise ,IF we exercise, and what avenues we take to achieve our goals...be it popping pills, sweating hard or through osmosis. I truly believe that we are a country of educated people who can think for ourselves and are not molded masses controlled by the whims of the media. Please! |
