There is a heart of gold inside this man's chest and a soul so deep I could just fall in for days and not be bored. He has depth and yet doesn't take life so seriously that he is crazy. Feral, What a cool thread... I enjoyed reading it. I am 1/2 Cherokee Indian and 1/2 Irish myself. My family originated in the Appalachin Mountains. My maternal great grandparents lived on the reservation near Cherokee NC I am told. I love animals very much too. I used to be a bit like Ellie Mae Clampett myself but not so much now since living in a small subdivision instead of the country. I've had monkeys, turtles, birds, cats, dogs, lizards, rodents, fish, horses, cows, bulls etc. I lived on a small farm for a while. Now I just have 2 kitties. One I've used as my avitar. Enjoyed the websites, poetry, paintings and intros very much. Wishing everyone a great evening! hi georgia

I figured since people were talking about others....that I would do so with Britty.......She is my soulsister....my sister in Christ and my rock. I know that when real life or life in cyber get hard that I can go to the Christian Coffeehouse and Brit will always have just what I need to hear for that moment. I cherish this woman with all my heart and have never met a woman of God such as this one......I want to grow up and be just like Britty....love you massive amounts lil lady........ |

Hi Everyone
I am a passionate writer. Just being laid off from my job  I've become very aware of the things (gifts) that I am grateful for. First and foremost is the gift of sobriety. God willing, it will be 16 yrs on April 1. What is making me "tick" right now is never losing hope. I have led a very interesting life and have learned many lessons along the way -- some lessons were easy; others very hard. I've taken many roads -- most were wrong turns. Nonetheless, they've molded me to be the person I am today. Once I was a person who viewed life as the cup is half empty; today I see it as half full. I'm a survivor--even right now, being on the verge of possibly losing everything I've worked for: my apartment, my car, the freedom to pay my bills without worry (the basics for a simple existance). I've never known this kind of fear. But I struggle daily to not lose hope or faith or my sobriety. It's difficult right now to not be "self-centered", but it helps me to let people know that my hand is reaching out to help someone who is in worse shape than I am. I wake up every morning grateful that I am alive and sober and waiting for life to take me where I'm needed and someone who needs support or simply just a friend. I don't know if this makes any sense to anyone -- but this is helping me to do what I need to do to just simply survive One Day At a Time.
