Well....So.... the readers, if there were any would share that
information. |

and a good essay it is. its so true. war doesnT hit us civvies the same
way it hit someone who's actually been in a warzone or has been trained for being in one. but i see you did a 180 on that one. and i must say i agree with flip. a volunteer's army works best. |

I agree with you, I served in the Gulf the first time, 4 years in The
United States Marine Corps! I believe every limp dick should spend 13 weeks @ Parris Island that would solve alot of our issues and cut the DNC by 90% |
Well I've already stated my opinion and it's nice to see that LG thinks
the same. |
I don't think we need to, unless we start to attack North Korea and Iran
at the same time. And or Syria too. Other than that I don't think a draft is needed. But of course If the other European countries start to wimp out as they usually do, until they need help of course, then maybe. |

I remember when Canada instituted the draft during WW2, the french got
all in a stink about it cuz they figured they shouldn't have to go fight England's war. But if I remember my history correctly, it FRANCE that was overrun by the Germans( rather pathetically too, considering 80% of the french army hadn't even SEEN the German forces let alone had a fight with any). The French army was also more modern and bigger with more powerful tanks than the German's were fielding in 1940. I do want to add that not ALL the french in Canada were so narrow minded. There were some very famous and highly decorated French Canadian units..the Fusilliers de Montreal being one that comes to mind |
Not to forget 22nd Regiment. But what scared the hell out of the French
in WW2 was the speed of the German attack, rounding through Belgium instead of hitting the primary defenses. |

I MYSELF THINK IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA! WAY TO MANY SPOILED BRATS OUT
HERE THAT HAVE IT TO EASY AND IT MIGHT MAKE SOME OF THEM MEN! I KNOW OF ALOT OF OLDER TEENAGERS 18 AND 19 THAT WONT GET OFF THEIR ASS 4 ANYTHING! THEY WONT WORK OR HELP OUT AROUND THE HOUSE JUST PLAIN lazy!! |
And these teenagers who don't want to make anything of themselves will
bring their attitudes of "I don't want to be here." or "where can I score." and lower the morale of troops who feel that they are there for a reason. Troops with low morale make mistakes. Mistakes are death. |
I agree for fun.
