Topic: draft?? | |

Ok. Waiting for it. However I said that I agreed with you on the
attitudes of civilians / politicians. Not that I agreed with the draft. I still firmly believe in the volonteer army. It hasn't let us down. |

Thinking, I do agree with what I wrote, except I do not think we need
the draft. It is a conglomeration of all the facts, Pro and Con that has changed my stand! |

A volonteer army with an elevated educational standard, giving added
incentives to those with technical, collegial or university studies would maintain force integrity, level of of committment and standard of intelligenge of the army. |

True!

Welcome to the Canadian Armed Forces. Now if only we had American
equipment. |

One time during REFORGER 1982, I think I was in the 1/4-3rd ID and we
routed a Canadien Brigade early in the morning on a cold winter day!! It was a lot of Fun! |

Hey what happened to the civilian!?
I think we scared them away.
They dont want to here a vetrens opinion!
Ever notice? |

When I was the 48th. some Marines showed an interest in removing the
plumes from our headgear and finding out if we were really men since we were wearing skirts (kilts). We told em they were welcome to try and pulled a Braveheart (turned, raised kilts and showed em where to kiss us.) They figured we were too f*****g crazy to bother. |
They are probably still thinking about it! LOL
Marines are kinda like blondes, Not too bright! FIFLOL |

Civilians are rarely interested in the opinions of the people who are /
have been in the green machine. |
I know but they shore do like to start it!

Nothing worse than armchair generals. Look at LBJ and his promises to
uncle Ho. |
Look at George Bush!
Very true. Makes me happy he's not Canadian. Wait a minute! He wanted to
drag us into that mess. |
Makes me sick, I wonder if his kids were in the service, would he still
think it is such a good cause? |
That would depend on if they were in an active / reserve combat unit or
in a rear echelon admin posting where they could do their jobs from a safe stateside base. |
Where they at?
I saw where his daughter had her cell phone or something stole! I bet she lost it at the bar! |
I'll bet there's a couple of Secret Service agents who have been
transferred to mail office. |
