The End of Oak Street - 2026
With Ewan McGregor and Anne Hathaway It currently has a surprising 6,7 IMdB rating. I feel it's more of a 4, tops. I suspect with a bit of time the IMdB rating will go down (movie is still in theatres). I had high hopes for this movie considering the storyline but it is quite disappointing. The acting isn't really up to par, the dinosaurs aren't well done, and a number of things they do just is idiotic. For instance something very upsetting happening (I won't tell what) that should deeply affect the entire family, yet no one talks about it, cries over it. It's as if they forget about it right away. Really weird. I watched the whole thing regardless, I'm a sucker for dino movies. But really it's like a 60s or 70s attempt to make an impressive dino movie. It didn't help that it was set in 1982, -nor did I understand why they chose to do so. It made the whole vibe of the movie 'old'. It would've helped the movie if they'd chosen to have it occur in 2026. A mysterious cosmic event rips Oak Street from suburbia and transports a neighborhood to someplace unknown. The Platt family soon discovers that their very survival depends on sticking together as they navigate their now unrecognizable surroundings. |

watched The Death of Robin Hood 2026 with Hugh Jackman, Jodie Comer & Bill Skarsgard
Grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder, Robin Hood finds himself gravely injured after a battle he thought would be his last. In the hands of a mysterious woman, he is offered a chance at salvation. Interesting take on a legendary figure. Not a rewatcher in my book but definitely worth a look.. kinda keeps you on the edge of your seat tho. Set in year 1247, a very violent time indeed. IMDb gives this a 6.. I give this an 8.2 for it's acting and cinematography.. |

Just watched The Rock.....with Sean Connery.....I think I saw it a few years ago , but couldnt remember the story....turned out to be interesting !! That definitely is a movie to watch more than once! The acting alone is so powerful, the dynamic between Sean Connery & Nicolas Cage is truly great. I happen to have watched it again myself not that long ago. No matter how often you've seen it (me = a lot) it still has you on the edge of your seat. |

I thought I'd give Desert Dawn a shot because of what TxGal said, but I didn't like it. Switched it off after 5 minutes or sooner. Really bad acting. It has a IMdB rating of 3,7 and I totally get why. But it made me think of The Last Stand with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Forest Whittaker and I watched that :) So something good came out of it for me. Sorry you did not give the movie more time than 5 min, really they were still explaining what the movie was even about.. I even timed it and well it took 4 min to set the stage.. I will admit it was not action packed from the beginning more of setting the stage for a country town Sheriff.. Sure there were times I wondered but it was still a movie I would watch again.. Matter of fact I did watch it again after your review.. Funny I found that I understood the movie even more.. The Picture he sees at the beginning if you even got that far was actually his sister that was kidnapped when he was only a kid.. Therefore would I recommend it yes I would, not like it kept you on the edge of your seat but it was interesting.. either way |

We all have our own taste and what we like. I was just happy that your suggestion made me think of something else with a similar theme so I ended up watching a movie I did appreciate in the end :) And I'm always open to suggestions as other people find different movie than I do. That's why I'm happy with threads like this :) |

Just finished watching Jack Reacher and getting set to watch Jack Reacher Never Go Back..... if you like the movies.. you'll love the TV series too.. it's 1/2 way thru season 4 currently.. What a coincidence! Like Slim, I recently watched the movies and yesterday I started watching Reacher season 4. I had stopped watching it during season 2 as he had physically changed so much. Bit too much steroids, and it all seemed so different from the first season which had been great. So far I do like this season. |

The Gray Man - 2025
With Ryan Gosling IMdB rating 6,5 I'm giving it a 7 Movie started out good, then a mid section that was full up with fights that are way over the top, total nonsense/totally unbelievable. What I call pointless fights. I'm not keen on those which is why my rating is reasonably low. End is okay again. When the CIA's top asset -- his identity known to no one -- uncovers agency secrets, he triggers a global hunt by assassins set loose by his ex-colleague. |

Green Zone - 2010
With Matt Damon IMdB rating 6,8 I rate it 8 Good movie, fast paced. You gotta pay attention otherwise you lose track of what's going on. But certainly worth the watch! Fictional action thriller, but it is inspired by real historical events and a non-fiction book The Main Character: Matt Damonβs character, Roy Miller, is a fictionalized version of a real-life U.S. Army Mobile Exploitation Team leader named Richard "Monty" Gonzales, who helped advise the film. Agent Roy Miller is assigned to find weapons of mass destruction during the Iraqi War. As he dives deep into the investigation, he discovers a sinister truth behind his mission. |

watched Mutiny 2026 with Jason Statham
After his billionaire industrialist boss is murdered in front of him, Cole Reed is set up to take the fall for the crime -- leaving him on the run as he works to uncover an international conspiracy. IMDb gives this a 5.8 this is insane.. per usual it's hi-octane action.. I give this an easy 8.9

Well with Dolly Parton passing away I happen to be looking for a movie and low and behold this one popped up and I just had to watch it.. It is not often I will watch old movies this one is from 1980.. But still a good movie to watch.. I laughed so hard on the scene where they got Stoned that it was unreal.. Had totally forgot that part..
"9 To 5" Jane Fonda Lily Tomlin Dolly Parton https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080319/ Three female employees of a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot find a way to turn the tables on him. Even tho it is an Oldie But Goody to watch.. I needed a good laugh and this one did it for me...

Only reason I watched that one is due to my brother's new wife got him to go watch it at the Theater.. I wanted to see what girl flick she talked him into..
I will have to admit I did like it.. But still need to jack with my brother for going to see it.. Yes it is not one I would have watched, but was not disappointed.. It is still a chick flick which normally I would pass up in a heart beat.. I go for more of the Action/Crime/War/Killing type movies.. Those that are more close to what could happen in real life with lots of action.

"Buffalo Crossing" 2022
An Ivy League drop-out travels to the Colorado wilderness, where he joins a team of buffalo hunters on a journey that puts his life and sanity at risk. Based on the highly acclaimed novel by John Williams. Stars.. Nicolas Cage, Fred Hechinger, Jeremy Bobb The show is based in the early 1870's. It covers the Great Slaughter of the Buffalo .. Honestly it is one of that does inform one how the demise of the Buffalo came to be.. In 1860 there was an approximately 30--60 million Buffalo. at the lowest point there were less than a 1,000. Now around 420,000. Now the largest herd lives in Yellowstone National Park.. which is between 5,000-6,000. I did watch the whole movie but unless one is just wanting to know how the Wild West survived at times and a little history many might not find the movie interesting.. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1462759/ |
