I see that in the USA there is an ongoing battle to bring in Voter ID. Why?
Did it not exist already? How were elections held all these years? Who has and who does'nt have voter ID?
Are we talking Govt issued ID...?

You're supposed to be a legal citizen in order to vote in the U.S..

So yes they are talking about some form of government I.D..

Most likely in the form of a tattoo on your butt so you can drop trou and get reamed real good when you close your eyes and vote for the least offensive candidate.

In most places in the US, voter ID is only needed upon request. And there are many acceptable forms of ID, like a regular drivers license or even a library card or utility bill. In some states, they require a government- issued ID with a photo, like a driver's license or a passport.

Trump's proposed law would require that all states require photo IDs, and that those IDs match the name on the voter rolls, so women who get married would have to re-prove their citizenship, going and obtaining a passport and a certified copy of their birth certificates and marriage certificate. A huge headache.

Lots of other people would have to re- register, when the Republicans inevitably kick them off the voter rolls for having a foreign- sounding name and being registered Democrat.

Those government documents aren't free and there's already a bit in the Constitution that requires voting to be free of charge.

I guess that could be a shot in Trumps own leg because most of his voters are the ones that can't afford to get a passport or BC. He loves the poor, the uneducated, that's his base. Aside from him ripping them off left and right with hist CHINA made, crappy merchandise. Will see where that will end up, I got my popcorn ready.

I dont really see a problem when it comes to women who gets married.. Why cant they just put their married name , if any , on the Voters list.... What name do they put on the Taxes ?? Its a cop out to me ....saying that.
And yes the Constitution may stipulate that voting rights are free... so no one is being charged for voting . They may incur a cost to secure an ID... there is a difference..
And the fraud is not at the Voting booth.... its with the Mail in ballots....and that has always been open to manipulation by all and sundry...

First of all when you get married, by law you are supposed to go have your driver license changed to your married name within a certain amount of time... Applies the same when you move to a new address or state..

You can still have your maiden name and your married last name put on your drivers license for mine is...

Sure if you just got married and went to go vote you may be asked for other identification.. but I have never been asked for anything but my drivers license..

Regardless it should be mandatory to have a legit form of ID regardless to Vote!

Why is it such a big deal , like making mountains out of molehills , when it comes to getting a Voter ID.
You would think all Parties concerned would be happy that only legit persons are casting their votes in an Election.....and not some poor Canadians like me ha ha...while snowbirding it in Florida !!!
