Whatever happened to California? How did it turn in to this region of unrecognizable lunacy and ignorance. Because of the woke liberal misfits running that state it has turned into the most undesirable place to be. There are so many woke regulations and policies that are destroying a once beautiful state where people actually wanted to visit…. But now there is a bill in the works in California that if passed (in this left leaning state) it would pay every black resident $5,000,000.00 each and also a guarantee yearly pay of $ 100,000.00. And also house prices dropped to $1.00 for black residents only… And California wasn’t even a state during slavery…Does anybody actually think this is a good idea? It really says a lot about the shape of our country if this is the kind of policies and discussions we are actually having.

What moronic politician submitted this bill? If this is the case, I will move to California and say I am black.

I believe their Governor Newsom, supports this or a portion of this bill.

I should have known. We are in big trouble if this Newsom ever got elected President.

I’m going to research this, because Bart, you do tend to post some hyperbolic, incomplete information. I am fairly certain there is more to it than this. But we can agree that California has some crazy stuff going on.

I did get something wrong , sorry. It’s only San Francisco. For now anyway. And I could be wrong about the governor’s support. But the #s are correct for what they recommend. Every citizen of a different race in San Francisco would be on the hook for $600,000.00

Read the article. WOW. Even if it's only San Francisco, that's still 50,000 black people, according to the article. $5 million for each person who qualifies? That's outrageous. Completely agree with you on this one. I would be shocked if it actually happened.

Seems to far left even for the left to pass when it comes to actually voting yes for such a insane bill. ..but if it does pass, how many other cities will adopt this law? I think we know the answer to that….

Made me think about when Oregon became a state. They had to decide if they would allow slavery or not. Their simple solution was just not allow black people into their state, problem solved.

So if slavery would have never existed in the United States then descendents of slaves would not exist. In other words most of the black people in the United States would not exist, pair that with the fact that many white people fought and died to free the slaves, and many white people are responsible for giving blacks the freedoms they have. To me it looks more like the black people should be leaning down to kiss the feet of white people then the white people trying to kiss the blacks ***** as they would not even exist had it not been for the white man.

Nice to see someone with more half a brain. Your logic is spot on.

When you research slave states and the whole slavery issue it is very enlightening, but don't ever try to bring the facts to a liberal unless you want to be called a racist.

Ask them the last state to abolish slavery, the race of the first man to have registered slaves in America.

They just can't handle facts.

Median wage is $54K/yr, the average person works 45 years = $2.4 mil.

Even on a flat monetary level, $5 million is insane.

The counter, there is absolutely no denying America did horrific things to African-Americans up to the mid 17th century and then continued to repress them after.

A more sensible approach might be free college for all descendants, along with shelter/food during college, maybe interest free home loans after college.

There is absolutely no denying the residual effects of descendants of slavery, but $5 million is just insane.

The better, more sensible approach is to pay to elevate those descendants to where they would be, had they migrated here like the rest of us.

My desendents weren’t paid to be elevated to someone else’s standards. They brought what valuables they could board a ship with and bartered or traded for land, or a home and Worked to earn a living. Working is the only way to succeed in life. Why do we always think the best way to solve a problem is pay out millions of dollars that never works the way the money was intended to work. A proponent of the reparations bill said “ the only way to keep the black youth from robbing and looting is reparations”. How about instead of making excuses for not holding down a job you actually try holding down a job. Or do without.

Lincoln's was supposedly a slave when he was a teenager, he felt bad for the negros that were enslaved and wanted them "free". Originally he planned on sending them to a reservation in central America after they were "free". So when people start throwing around this BS about giving people free housing, free education, free food, I say look what the F'n indians have done with all that we have given them? Like Bart says throwing $ at a problem is in no way going to solve that problem, the way to make productive, assimilated people's is to have them go out and earn it and prove themselves.
