I participated in a thingie that could win me a trip to Africa for 2. I didn't win

Bouncing off that, and we do NOT include the pandemic in this!! For this question it does NOT exist!!:

You get news you won a trip to Africa for 2. What do you do?
-Jump for joy then get packing?
- Don't go (why not?)

If you go, who will you take with you as 2nd person? Thing is, if you don't take someone along, you will have to share a room with a stranger OR pay extra for a single room.
What would you do? Who would you take?

I would love to see wild animals for real, giraffes and lions especially!
Rhinos is fine, from a long long distance, haha, same with hippos.

I would ask my son to come along, for simple reason that I think he'd absolutely love it and be interested in it. My girl has different taste.

I'd definitely go! I'd want to go on a safari, it's always been a dream of mine.

As far as who'd I'd take, my first choice would be to ask my roommate. If he didn't want to go, then I'd ask KitKat, she could use a vacation. My one son is married, he wouldn't want to go without his wife, and my other son is married to his job and wouldn't want to go without his computer, haha.

I'd be scalping those tickets immediately.
The closest I want to come to wild animals
is a movie screen, or a Zoo.

I forgot about elephants!! I'd like to see those too, but since a bull can be quite reactive, from a distance. I'd take binoculars, hihi.
It would be very impressive and humbling to see a bull make a point for real, but I think I'll stick to YouTube vids for that, haha.

I think we had Jacque every week. My dad loved it, and I used to watch it with him, partly cos I liked it, partly cos I liked being with my dad and seeing him so happy about something.

Naw, have one cousin buried there and another made it back but were not sure of his mind. Both missionaries. I've been to Disneyworld, that's enough exotics for me.

Since a good portion of the continent is under travel advisories,
not related to the coronavirus, but violence, kidnapping, etc.

Definitely go, Africa includes many countries, visit South Africa seeing Capetown, Durban, East London, Port Elizabeth all nice places round the cape along the coast, East Africa to Mombasa, Zanzibar, Dar es salaam, some beautiful beeches and national parks, all tourist friendly places.
