Extremely proud of the coincidence I had nothing to do with.

America..more grateful than proud.

Of course everyone is! It is only a sick and deranged group of Americans stuck with a guilt trip trying to tell everyone that you aren't allowed to be like that. You like your country unless you are filled with programmed guilt.

That's a side of the political mess Not that it matters to the thread but every other European Empire did far worse without any compensating good: The Spanish murdered, enslaved and killed by disease, untold millions in South America. The Germans habit in Africa the was the enslavement and working to death entire populations. The Nazis simply used the same tactics across Europe. The French commited unspeakable atrocities in the Carribbean and North Africa (particularly Algeria) The hellhole that was the Belgian Congo is notorious to this very day. The Italians did nothing good, humane or laudable in Abbysinia/Ethiopia. I'll take the British over any of these. |

The first thought that jumps to one's mind is Hitler, while hundreds of German pioneers and scientists are drawn back to the second rank, unintentionally. |

Actually, even now when someone says Germany to me, the first thing that springs to my mind is their superb beer. I think we've disrupted this thread for long enough though.
