What is everybody's opinion about open marriages and the poly lifestyle?

What is everybody's opinion about open marriages and the poly lifestyle? If that's your (someone's) thing...fine... Just don't push/ pressure someone who *isn't* into it to do it...or shame them because they won't..telling them they need to "free their mind" and all that nonsense... Also? If that is your thing...make sure whoever you get involved with knows it upfront...not months after they get with you then you spring it on them....that's dishonest. |

What is everybody's opinion about open marriages and the poly lifestyle? If it is "open", then it isn't a real marriage. Show me a married man who wants an "open" marriage, and I'll show you a man who simply wants to commit adultery. |

I wonder why it's mostly men who seem to want this.
In a way I don't believe in the forced monogamy, but the alternative is still not the same as open marriage or poly. Anywho, open marriage or poly, not for me. |

I am not into open marriage or poly.

My opinion is it's kind of like racism. I'd rather people be open and honest about it so I know whom to avoid. |

To each his/her own, just not for me....

I think one person will always get hurt in such an arrangement.
strong feelings tend to emerge in time. if the don't, then what is it? mutual selfishness and gratification? convenience? I'm defiantly mahogany. |

Seems to me there is another thread on this topic.
It's from September or October, I think. There was plenty of discussion there, some of it was rather heated. I don't recall if it was locked or not though. |

To each his/her own... Personally I would never agree to it. I want to be the only one that puts that sparkle in his eye, as he would be for me!

Not for me. I'd think it would cause jealousy and fighting sooner or later.

Why bother getting married?
|
|
|
|
Why bother getting married? I know, right? You can only marry one. The rest aren't legal spouses. So what is the point of marrying at all? Nobody needs a marriage license to have multiple partners. The reason they bring it up is really just because of tax laws. |

Fine if they all chip in for the household bills,or we could just lease wives when we wanted, one for cooking, one for sewing,a couple for sex.

Wow, I've seen them. From what I gather, ya pull up to the street corner and roll down your window and one will walk up to your car. Ya agree on a price and she gets in the car and you bring her to your place. She gets right to work. I can imagine how it would happen. We walk in the house. I hand her a maid's apron and direct her to the bathroom. I tell her the scrubbing bubbles are under the sink with everything else and when she is done with that room, come see me because I have more for her. Then I go get back on my PS3 till she gets done. When the lease is up, I drop her back off where I got her. But my house is all sparkly again. |
