Topic: How do you like strangers to approach you? | |

Let's say you're at the grocery store or at work and a guy finds you attractive and would like to ask you out for say dinner. How would you like them to approach you? Would you rather them just come out and say it, a complete stranger stating they find you beautiful and would let to take you out to dinner and get to know you or would you rather they engage you in small talk to get to know you then ask you out to dinner?

I will chit chat with guys in the grocery store or smile and say hi but would not consider discussing a date.

I would be more receptive to small talk first. And keeping it light and more casual by asking if I'd like to meet for coffee would be work better for me. |

If someonbe approached me and said they thouht I was beautiful/ gorgeous/ whatever...I'd immediatley be on guard...because evey time in the last several years someone has said that to me online, it has been a scammer.
And, I can look in the mirror, I (*know* I am not beautiful or georgeous.. (don't need opinatios non my self image, thanks..I'm good...) I'm *cute*, in the right light....LOL Anyway..if they approaced me with actual conversation...mentioning something about where we are...asking where something is at Lowe's or the grocery store...or something offhand about the event we are at...that'd be great... But, DO get to the point, because I have no interest in "getting the hint", and making an assumption that he's interested in me and just shy/ unable to ask....because he could *just* be looking for said item.. If I am not interested, I'll be polite and say so in as nice a way as possible. Probably lie and say "thanks, but I have a boyfriend..".. That way his feelings aren't hurt... :-) |

Dinner?? With a stranger? Not likely, no.
An invite to have a cappuccino somewhere, yes. Dinner is jumping too far ahead. Now I have had dinner on a first date, but then we'd already spent an entire afternoon talking and we clicked so ridiculously much that we totally lost track of time and suddenly it was dinner time... We felt completely comfortable together after those wonderful 3-4 hours, so I was also comfortable dining with him in a restaurant. Not with a total stranger. Smiling with spinach stuck between your teeth, trying to talk with your mouth full... Just not handy. And if you don't click after all, you're stuck with a meal. |

However they want I donβt tell people how to act or behave I like people to be themselves it saves a lot of problems down the road when everyone is just transparent imo

I don't like strangers to approach me. A few weeks ago I was walking into a store and this old guy was walking out. He said something like, I've seen you around town and wanted to introduce myself. Ok. We were shaking hands but he hung onto my hand too long, and he was looking at my hand, until I pulled my hand away. I was thinking, "hey bud, we're shaking hands, not on a date".

I prefer that they walk on their hands, backwards. Now that would be an impressive way to approach someone and who could say no then

It is probably for the girl saying hello to you but she would not accept your dinner offer. It is so dangerous for a girl having dinner with a stranger guy meeting for the first time.
