Why are people who are in a relationship jealous at any level?

Let’s assume they have never cheated or been cheated on. Where does that emotion come from?

Because my ex-wife cut the sex down to only once a month !
But dont feel bad for me ! She cut some guys off completly

I imagine it stems from the same emotions that makes one angry when their lunch comes up missing from the office frig, or you find your car missing. Most relationships are possessive and cheating becomes a form of theft.

Sometimes jealousy can be confused with or combined with fear.Fear that the person you love might stop loving you.

So if your guy flirts with someone, he might stop loving you?

I believe most think it that way. Every stepdaddy/boyfriend my mum had treated us all like property. How many times I've heard someone say, "That's my wife" or " Keep your hands off my man". Both possessive statements.

I guess jalousi is one of the most basic feelings that humans posess.
It will always be a part of us. Some more than others.

It's a pity, though, as nobody ca own another human being in my way of thinking.

Jealousy, is perhaps the most immature
of emotions.

I see it used quite often, by both sides, as a very cheap
ploy for control.

Absolutely right.

Maybe some use it for control. But I don’t think that’s always the case. I’ve had jealousy rear it’s ugly head before and I have never been one to control anyone. It wasn’t for control or to possess. That’s not me at all.

That’s why I asked this question. I’m seriously curious about why someone would feel jealousy.

I guess love is the main reason. Simple as that.

If you love, you're most likely to be jalous if your partner is fooling around.
If you don't care, You don't care if your partner are with whoever, I guess.

Jealousy linked to insecurity.

But I said there was no cheating going on.

Would you be jealous if your gf flirted with another guy? Many would but why are they jealous if it’s only flirting?

What if your partner began doing something with someone else that s/he used to only do with you?

What if that something was part of what made you feel special in your partner's eyes?

What if this also meant you received less attention from your partner because that something is now split between two people?

If I was receiving less attention, I wouldn’t be happy but depending on the activity, I probably wouldn’t be jealous.

But that scenario can happen when your best friend finds a new friend or gets a boyfriend.

Jealosy is sourced from fear, plain and simple.
Fear of losing something that means a lot to you.
Fear of someone gettimng one over on you.
Whatever, its some type of fear.

Stare death in the eye and those fears have no significance anymore.
It kinda makes you wonder how important it all is when your own life is in the balance.
Accept the fact that everybody dies and there is nothing anyone can do about it and it has even less meaning.

When you realize that everything that is and every dream that is dreamt, Every wish that has ever been wished and ever love that has ever been loved by you has only been experienced by you, during your lifetime, while you were alive.
You have a unique take on the world according to you.
If you can let go of your fears of loss or disgrace in someone elses eyes, you can find a way to move past the jealousy trap.

Since I don't expect to survive the night, on any given night, I take every day as a new experience and when that day is 'gifted' by someone I care deeply for, that is enough.

I have been betrayed, severely.
I have had my share of heartbreak.
I have had my times of jealousy.
When you consider that all that is something verses the nothing of death, it all pales in comparison.

Appreciate the people that ARE in your life and do have meaning.
Understand that they too are people, just like you.
They no more live to please you as you live to please them.
Find contentment and live in it.
