I don't think I made myself clear, such rules do not apply to me given my social awkwardness, pick ups aren't even an option for me, not in person anyway. But I've come to terms with the way things have to be for me, sure everyone runs when I mention "mental illness", but it is my reality and something I can't pretend isn't there, being unconfidant is just part of who I am. I was reading the posts just now and saw you mention Asperger's Syndrome. My son, 23, also was diagnosed with it. You are the only other person I have ever had the opportunity and pleasure to meet. It isn't a mental illness. Whomever explained it to you that way was entirely wrong, imho. Any doc I have seen concerning my son, and believe me, count them through the years, has used descriptions such as, "shades of autism";"high-functioning autism"; "computer geek"; "loner";"quiet but highly intelligent". My son's i.q. is in the gifted range. You are giving yourself such a bad rap right out of the gate, why would women want to message you? Again, you don't have a mental illness. Damn the person that has brainwashed you. Tony Roma is an expert in the field, his books are excellent reading. Now you have me on a soapbox... not at you tho. My son goes to college, works a full-time job, has friends, albeit the girls are scary(but isn't that the reason for this post anyway?), and through the years, when people tell me what a "great kid" he is, my response has been, "excuse me, I'm (blank's) Mom, u don't have me confused, do u?" we all know kids are different at home.
Anyway, I hope this makes sense, because I am fighting mad...and I just wanted to say take that part out of your profile, cuz it doesn't belong there. I bet the word dreamer u have in it suits u just fine!

Again, I have a mild varient of aspergers which is more apparent as a symptom of my schizo effective disorder. It's real, it's very real, and is a struggle I've endured and have done well all things considered. It is a reality I must face & is a reality anyone close to me must face. I could pretend I don't have a mental illness, but that would only offset my recovery which I've worked so hard on. My hallucination management system and my serequel have worked wonders, but like John Nash if I give up & go backwards I'm destined for doom. I prefer to be upfront & honest about my condition;^]

I don't think learning how to be more social is dentrimental in the long run. Now, (this is my view, I can't speak for others) the pickup arts teach guys how to approach women. Basically, to get your foot in the door. I noticed a lot of people talk about the relationship aspect between a man and a woman. The pickup arts aren't about how to make a relationship work. It's how to get a relationship started. Those are two completely different things.
