Topic: COFFEEHOUSE CHAT FOR CHRISTIANS | |
---|---|
Good morning all, Come, read to me some poem, Some simple and heartfelt lay, That shall soothe this restless feeling, And banish the thoughts of day... Read from some humbler poet, Whose songs gushed from his heart, As showers from the clouds of summer, Or tears from the eyelids start; Who, through long days of labor, And nights devoid of ease, Still heard in his soul the music Of wonderful melodies... -from 'The Day Is Done' Henry Wadsworth Longfellow |

Hi Debs, glad you could pop in for a minute to say hello.
How is your trip. Hope all is well. God bless, and keep you safe. Hi Victorious, good to see you again, how about introducing yourself and letting us know about your walk with the Lord. I prefer to think of myself as having a relationship with God rather than belonging to a particular religion. For me the gospel of Jesus is one of Love. |

There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real! When the door of happiness closes, another opens; but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don’t see the one which has been opened for us. |

Indian Proverb
For the friendship of two, the patience of one is required. H.P. Blavatsky, Gems from the East (June 17th) Endurance is the free companion of Sorrow, and Patience her master. Chinese Proverb If you are patient in a moment of anger, you will escape a hundred days of sorrow. |

EXERCISE
I have to exercise early in the morning before my brain figures out what I'm doing. - I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me. - The advantage of exercising every day is that you die healthier. - If you are going to try cross-country skiing, start with a small country. - Walking can add minutes to your life. This enables you at 85 years old to spend an additional 5 months in a nursing home at $5000 per month. - My grandmother started walking five miles a day when she was 60. Now she's 97 years old and we don't know where on earth she is. - The only reason I would take up exercising is so that I could hear heavy breathing again. - I joined a health club last year, spent about 400 bucks. Haven't lost a pound. Apparently you have to go there. - And last but not least: I don't exercise because it makes the ice jump right out of my glass. |

John Clare Love lives beyond Love lives beyond The tomb, the earth, which fades like dew! I love the fond, The faithful, and the true. Love lives in sleep, The happiness of healthy dreams: Eve's dews may weep, But love delightful seems. 'Tis seen in flowers, And in the morning's pearly dew; In earth's green hours, And in the heaven's eternal blue. 'Tis heard in spring When light and sunbeams, warm and kind, On angel's wing Bring love and music to the mind. And where is voice, So young, so beautiful, and sweet As nature's choice, Where spring and lovers meet? Love lives beyond The tomb, the earth, the flowers, and dew. I love the fond, The faithful, young, and true. |

ABOVE ALL
Verse 1 Above all powers above all kings Above all kingdoms Above all nature and all created things Above all thrones Above all wisdom and all the ways of man Above all wonders You were here before the world began The world has ever known Above all wealth Above all kingdoms above all thrones And treasures of the earth Above all wonders the world has ever known There's no way to measure Above all wealth and treasures of the earth What You're worth There's no way to measure what You're worth Verse 2 Crucified laid behind the stone Above all powers You lived to die rejected and alone Above all kings Like a Rose trampled on the ground Above all nature You took the fall and thought of me And all created things Above all Above all wisdom And all the ways of man Above all powers above all kings You were here Above all nature and all created things Before the world began Above all wisdom and all the ways of man You were here before the world began CHORUS Crucified Above all kingdoms above all thrones Laid behind the stone Above all wonders the world has ever known You lived to die Above all wealth and treasures of the earth Rejected and alone There's no way to measure what You're worth Like a rose Trampled on the ground Crucified laid behind the stone You took the fall You lived to die rejected and alone And thought of me Like a Rose trampled on the ground Above all You took the fall and thought of me Above all (Chorus) (Chorus) Crucified laid behind the stone You lived to die rejected and alone Like the rose Like a Rose trampled on the ground Trampled on the ground You took the fall and thought of me You took the fall Above all And thought of me Above all Like a Rose trampled on the ground You took the fall and thought of me Above all Michael W. SUFFERING
Perhaps the suffering most difficult to understand is that which seems to come out of nowhere and for no discernible reason. We must realize that individual tragedies may occur over which we have no control and that are impossible for us to foresee. In such instances the Scriptures encourage us to pray, asking God to remove or relieve the problem or help us deal with the difficulty and learn from it. Our Creator in His wisdom doesn't always give us the answer we want. Rarely does He reveal the specific reason for the decision He makes. Yet He always has a good reason. For example, God delivered the apostle Paul from many trials, but in at least one He declined to intervene in spite of Paul's fervent prayers (2Corinthians 12:7-10). On this occasion the response to Paul was, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." In this instance, strengthening an aspect of Paul's spiritual perspective or character was ultimately more important than his personal comfort. |

Hello y'all just stopping in for a quick visit and a cup of joe...and to say hi to all my christian friends on JSH.
and to share a little poetry... Have a Happy and Blessed New Year I want to run I want to run free To wherever this path will lead me I might take a few scenic routes Stop for a picnic here Take a picture there Where will this path lead me I don't know But it is Bless by Him I feel For He, My Lord, guides me on the path I follow The picnics, scenic hikes and pictures... Those are blessed by Him as well For its in them That I learn I learn who I am What I want What I desire ...I need... So... Thank you Lord For Leading me this far Continue and I will follow Over smooth track or rocky hillsides I ask that your footprints Always be there As I walk the... calm and turbulent shores ...of Life I love you my Lord Amen Yours Truly Tiffany 12/28/2007 |
