Hi Everyone!

I haven't been around because while I'm on Christmas Break from classes, I'm taking a CNA course, so I can work at that till I get my teaching degree. It seems like a simple enough job, but you wouldn't believe the reading and studying involved in getting certified!!! I was shocked! But things are going well, and I'll work where I'm taking the course after I finish.

Had a great service at church this morning. Wonderful music, and we had a communion service as well. I LOVE my church family. It is soo good to feel that way!!

I hope everyone is doing well, and is ready for Christmas! I gotta go finish the fudge, and bake a couple pumpkin pies! See you later!

It is the day before Christmas. Tonight will be Christmas Eve. Because the holy day falls on a Tuesday, many are taking a very long weekend from work.
In large part the festival of Christmas has left behind the reason for celebrating and has gone on to celebrate for the sake of calibration. Most of us will be told it is a time to gather together with family and loved ones. That is not really what Christmas is all about. Christmas is a calibration of the birth of Christ, or that used to be the reason for the season. Even those of us who now find ourselves alone on the holidays have reason to celebrate. God sent His only begotten Son so that whoever would believe on Him would have everlasting life. This applies as much to those of us who find we have no one to celebrate with as those who still have intact families.
I hope all the single people, people without anyone to celebrate with, have a merry Christmas.

For many the holiday season is a time of cheer, of joy and peace, but for others it can be lonely and depressing.
Instead of being surrounded by family, some are surrounded by the darkness of their past mistakes and failures.
Perhaps there is a tendency to define ourselves by what we've done or didn't do.

You'll find it comforting to know that you are not alone in your mistakes. The Bible tells us, "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

Whenever you start to define yourself by your past, read Philippians 4:8.
