"feralcatlady, explain your name to me?"
A feral cat is a stray feline, a domesticated cat that has no human house or out building to call home. You might refer to a feral cat as a stray. Now you will only need “Lady" explained to you. A feral cat lady is a female, of good standing who would even care for a stray cat. That is the picture I get from the title. |

Hi Kalamazoo guy good to see you here. That is one of the points of this thread to make it feel like home - that soft place to land so to speak.
JB - I believe you described feralcatlady very well. I am sure Debs will be dropping in later and she can tell us how she came to use the name. Have a great day guys. |

Heartprints Whatever our hands touch- We leave fingerprints! On walls, on furniture On doorknobs, dishes, books. There's no escape. As we touch we leave our identity. Oh God, wherever I go today Help me leave heartprints! Heartprints of compassion Of understanding and love. Heartprints of kindness And genuine concern. May my heart touch a lonely neighbor Or a runaway daughter Or an anxious mother Or perhaps an aged grandfather. Lord, send me out today To leave heartprints. And if someone should say "I felt your touch," May that one sense YOUR LOVE Touching through ME. |

A wonderful evening to all who drop in today. Some of the snow has melted but there may be more to follow over the weekend. Time to bundle up!
It is hard To forget To apologize To save money To be unselfish To avoid mistakes To keep out of a rut To begin all over again To make the best of all things To keep your temper at all times To think first and act afterwards To maintain a high standard To keep on keeping on To shoulder blame To be charitable To admit error To take advice To forgive But it pays! (author; unknown) - based on Matthew 7:1-2 |

Actually.....
A feral cat is a cat who cannot be domesticated and considered wild and un-tame. A stray is a cat that is tame and domesticated but has no home. This is what volunteering at animal shelters gives you...if only there was a job that needed this kind of knowledge lol |
|
|
|
I guess now we have a female of good standing who can tame an un-tameable feline. That would fit for our feral cat lady.
|
|
|
|
Cloudy, you are right. There is deference between a stray cat, one without a home and the feral cat, a cat born to a wild cat that has never known domestication.

Good morning guys, great to see you here.
Hope you have a super day. |

Good evening folks. I posted a recipe for Coq au Vin Nouveau in the Recipes and Cooking section if anyone cares to try it. I love Coq au Vin, one of my favorite french recipes. This one is a little less complicated. I also like it with the shallots and bacon - The one I posted is a lighter version. Enjoy |

I can picture myself looking around for the plates and silverware as Britty works in the kitchen to create this masterpiece. Wouldn’t it be heaven to be there waiting for her culinary delight to come to the table.

hello all! thought i would share some good news of God's blessings. i was really worried about getting fuel oil....then the other day, there was a paper in the teacher's lounge about getting 100 gallons free for anyone making under a certain amount. i called that nite and am waiting on the application so please pray i get approved. when the lady asked what my hardship is, i told her im broke! then explained being a single parent. while i was talking about this, one of the teacher's told me she switched to gas heat and has about 150-200 gallons of fuel oil left from last year and if i can figure out a way to get it, i can have it for free! well, i said that i will find a way even if it means using a straw. (actually my dad has a way to do it.) and i was able to get my son a few presents today. including a docking station for the ipod my parents bought him. i was going to head into a certain store but i was tired of fighting the crowds. i had a strong feeling that i should go in anyway. so i said, "ok, if i can find a close parking spot, i will go in." of course a parking spot opened right away and it was the very first spot! i went in and found the docking station for $5!!!! thank you God! when i got to my parents house, my brother had bought most of my son's santa presents so that i wouldn't have to worry! and then when i got home, i had a $25 gift card for Borders in my mailbox from some union work i had done last month. God is good!!!!

"What we call adversity God calls opportunity" - psalm 71.14
The famous blind songwriter Fanny Crosby wrote more than 8,000 songs. When Fanny was 6 weeks old a minor eye inflammation developed. After receiving treatment from a doctor, she became totally and permanently blind. Fanny Crosby harbored no bitterness against the physician. She has been quoted as saying of him, "If I could meet him now, I would say thank you, over and over again for making me blind." She felt that her blindness was a gift from God to help her write the hymns that flowed from her pen. She allowed her tragedy to make her better instead of bitter.” |
