Heartprints Whatever our hands touch- We leave fingerprints! On walls, on furniture On doorknobs, dishes, books. There's no escape. As we touch we leave our identity. Oh God, wherever I go today Help me leave heartprints! Heartprints of compassion Of understanding and love. Heartprints of kindness And genuine concern. May my heart touch a lonely neighbor Or a runaway daughter Or an anxious mother Or perhaps an aged grandfather. Lord, send me out today To leave heartprints. And if someone should say "I felt your touch," May that one sense YOUR LOVE Touching through ME. good day Britty very nice entry thanks |

Quilt of Holes (thanks to the friend who sent this to me)
As I faced my Maker at the last judgment, I knelt before the Lord along with all the other souls. Before each of us laid our lives like the squares of a quilt in many piles; an angel sat before each of us sewing our quilt squares together into a tapestry that is our life. But as my angel took each piece of cloth off the pile, I noticed how ragged and empty each of my squares was. They were filled with giant holes. Each square was labeled with a part of my life that had been difficult, the challenges and temptations I was faced with in every day life. I saw hardships that I endured, which were the largest holes of all. I glanced around me. Nobody else had such squares. Other than a tiny hole here and there, the other tapestries were filled with rich color and the bright hues of worldly fortune I gaz ed upon my own life and was disheartened. My angel was sewing the ragged pieces of cloth together, threadbare and empty, like binding air. Finally the time came when each life was to be displayed, held up to the light, the scrutiny of truth. The others rose; each in turn, holding up their tapestries. So filled their lives had been. My angel looked upon me, and nodded for me to rise. My gaze dropped to the ground in shame. I hadn't had all the earthly fortunes. I had love in my life, and laughter. But there had also been trials of illness, and wealth, and false accusations that took from me my world, as I knew it. I had to start over many times. I often struggled with the temptation to quit, only to somehow muster the strength to pick up and begin again. I spent many nights on my knees in prayer, asking for help and guidance in my life. I had often been held up to ridicule, which I endured painfully, each time offering it up to the Father in hopes that I would not melt within my skin beneath the judgmental gaze of those who unfairly judged me. And now, I had to face the truth. My life was what it was, and I had to accept it for what it was. I rose and slowly lifted the combined squares of my life to the light. An awe-filled gasp filled the air. I gazed around at the others who stared at me with wide eyes. Then, I looked upon the tapestry before me. Light flooded the many holes, creating an image, the face of Christ. Then our Lord stood before me, with warmth and love in His eyes. He said, "Every time you gave over your life to Me, it became My life, My hardships, and My struggles. Each point of light in your life is when you stepped aside and let Me shine through, until there was more of Me than there was of you." May all our quilts be threadbare and worn, allowing Christ to shine through! God determines who walks into your life....it's up to you to decide who you let walk away, who you let stay, and who you refuse to let go." |

"feralcatlady, explain your name to me?" A feral cat is a stray feline, a domesticated cat that has no human house or out building to call home. You might refer to a feral cat as a stray. Now you will only need “Lady" explained to you. A feral cat lady is a female, of good standing who would even care for a stray cat. That is the picture I get from the title. no offense to debbie...feral cat lady but real feral cats also kill songbirds and there are way too many at the river where i ride my bike. feral cats and skunks living and eating together being fed by some cat person it is very funny here is a link http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2004/09/0907_040907_feralcats.html |

True Vanessa, cats can be lovable but in their wild state they can kill other animals/birds that we also care about.

Today is Monday, a day of toil and travail. We were spared the big snows. We got a bit of ice. For the most part we only got rain. Now it is off to another week of work, work at a job where I feel I do a very poor job. I ask for prayer that the Lord might open doors for me that I might find some more meaningful work, that I might be able to serve in some way. I have little to offer, but I give my all and all. I give myself as a living sacrifice as it is right so to do.
The reverend Carl Black went home yesterday to be with his Father. I pray for the Mission and for his family. Carl was a mentor to me. I look forward to seeing him again. |

Well then I will explain
feralcatlady = Wild cat lady.....but let me explain a lil further. Yes I do have both domestic ferals like your averalge wild house cat....But I also have exotic wild cats. I take dometic wildcats and especially with the kittens find them loving homes. I have been doing this for almost 30 years. And yes ferals can be tamed it just takes alot of patience and time. I have a colony at my home...The most has been 29 the least is right now I have 7. I also take care of exotic feral such as ligras, cougars, and leopards. I have only one cougar mamma and her baby right now..and they eventually will also be released. I also have Louie my oposum....Whom I found at a couple days old and now he is part of my family.....I just had his picture taken with Santa and will be putting on myspace at some point. You can also go look at some of the animal on myspace. If interested e-mail me and I will give you addy. God Bless Debbie P.S. as far as the birds go......I don't by the statistics they have....And of course it's not to say they don't cath birds....But I know also with 30+ years of experience they rarely catch birds....They most live on mice, rate and other small rodents. As far as squirrels no way they are relentless with cats teasing and messing with them. Also scrub jays and other birds will swoop and take fur and even tips of ears........I had one manx in 30 years that was a good birder....and she could not always catch them....But did once in awhile catch a hummingbird which I took away and released....but trust me folks they miss more then they catch. |

I truly enjoyed the part of my job at the Mission Farm, of taming stray kittens. The Mission has a city Mission plus the Farm that I was a part of. When cats would be caught at the city Mission, they would be brought out to the farm. As the keeper of all animals it fell within my job desciption to make friendly these little fur balls and claws. Then when I had them so they loved to be handled, I would put a sign up at the top of the driveway, and within hours the kittens would have a new home. I guess I tamed six or seven kittens while I was at the Mission Farm. Each one found a new home. The males I could neuter myself, the females I had to take to the vets to be fixed. Taming kittens to give them new homes is one of those jobs that is very easy to love.

Best Friends Animal Santuary (Best Friends Catnippers) is an organization that I work with that spays/neuters gives them all their shots, clean their teeth and for the most part return them to the colony. I can't tell you a greater feeling then lying on my couch and having 5 or 6 ferals come all around you and lick you all over, and love you.....Now as soon as I move bam there gone....But I know this is what God wants me to do. Especially with the animals they need a voice someone to be there for them.....Thats me.

Thank you Debs for sharing that - most interesting. I have a friend at the office we tend to refer to as 'catlady' - she has 7 at the moment also.
Thanks also to JB for sharing. |
