well my point is that initial post is messed up. there were no computers when Abe was alive so there was no internet and he couldn't have talked about it unless he was talking about something else. I just wonder if that quote is accurate or did they replace a word to make it more relevant to today's youth? If they did that then that's just wrong. At least it is in my opinion.

yes, that IS the point

how the 'quote' is so obviously not possible but will be copied and pasted and believe to be true because its on the internet,,,

and why people need to check, check, and recheck their sources (and their 'facts')

Well if anyone believes he actually said that then they have to be complete idiots. I'm not a history buff. But I know enough to know that computers weren't invented till the 1900's and Abe was alive in the 1800's. Cars weren't even made yet. Booth had to make his escape on a horse. How can someone think that Abe could have possibly said anything about the internet. It would make more sense if he was quoted saying that about gossip, books or news papers. hahaha

yes, I agree

but I still read such ;idiotic; copy and paste facts quite a bit

How are you still alive? I would have beat myself to death beating my head against a wall if I read things like that which I knew couldn't possibly be correct that were being passed off as truth. lol

Well your opinion would actually be fact. It supposedly started with a poster in a library, something along this line:

the 'quote' attributed to Lincoln is false because he would not have spoken about the 'internet' that had yet to be invented

it is prudent to check our sources and recheck information before posting it

none of that is BS

Sure it is, if you need to do a lot of research on that fact, then research will not help, you are already brain dead.

Oh, and how do you like this great website, so many anti-Odumbo images.

I agree, if one needs to research a quote so obviously improbable, they have issues

the post, however, is not about researching THAT 'quote' specifically, but just about how easy it is to post ANYTHING on the internet and why that leads to the importance of rechecking what we initially read for veracity

this doesn't man that obvious things have to be rechecked but what's OBVIOUS to one person is not so obvious to another, depending upon ones innate prejudice or perceptions,,,

It's like repeating what LOUIS WANTS. He made it plain. He wants, for us, I'm officially black-African here, s separate state. Free to rule ourselves and total freedom from the US jurisdiction.

Some say that's not what he wants.

Even his newspaper states similar.

Dude, this thread has nothing to do with the NOI.

Why are you so fixated on that topic?

I ain't no dude now. I'm a bro!

Your claim, it's not pertinent to the topic? Who made you topics popo?

Fixated? Well, yeah.
I love his plan for complete separation from the US.

The majority white run gubament keeps us in line and in chains.

I don't want no mo Dem slave scraps dry be thowin at us.

If you check my profile, I'm also Muslim.

I gots my rights fo whitey gibme my free chit.

But how would you know when you can't tell the difference. If you read different answers to the same topic, which do you choose? Would you really know the difference?

sounds like a personal dilemma,,,,

how each individual 'knows' anything is a different topic

No. Sounds like the truth.

Take a poll of minglites who agree.

I'll take the lead and teach you how it's done.

msharmony,

People who are filled with hatred or paranoia don't care if their sources are accurate or not. They just want sources that will aid their hatred or paranoia.

take a poll? seriously?

rofl rofl rofl

there are four or five minglites who seem to enjoy engaging in tangets and arguments with me,, Im sure they feel victimized too,,lol

and MOST of their posts, in my opinion , try to imply that I am likewise an idiot,,

its the nature of the internet,,and once again, off topic of what I was TRYING to discuss on this thread,,,

So that would make you massively confused. If this about the importance of "researching" a topic, and how someone "knows" anything is a different topic, then how do you "know" you are "researching" the correct thing.

And it is a personal dilemma, yours. I am able to determine the difference and "know" what I need to research. When there are opposing views, I have the critical thinking skills to be able to piece together the information and find the flaws leading to the correct conclusion.

It's like in math, 2 + 2 is always 4 and can never be otherwise unlike the new Common Core would have you believe.

I disagree, I though she knew none of the truths but it didn't matter and that is what made all the rest of us ignorant and stupid.
