hey everyone

my dad used to say.. "if you don't have anything nice to say.. just keep quiet" so that's kinda what I've been doing..

nothing crazy or anything.. but I was really hurt by someone's actions in the real world, since I last posted here.. someone I've known and trusted as a dear friend and peer for WELL over a decade.. (so no one on here ) anywho.. suffice to say it threw me for quite a loop.. and I've been kinda dumbstruck ever since.. yeah.. go figure.. it left ME speechless regardless.. I'm just now mentally slapping myself outta it and I just wanted to let you all know I've been lurking.. but haven't felt much like posting..

that said.. probably should've posted this in I NEED A HUG thread.. cuz MAN it hurts when you're betrayed by someone you beLIEVE is looking out for your best interests..

upside is.. this action has forced me to rethink the current situation and pursue other options.. so instead of complaining about it.. I'm looking at the positive, to change a less than ideal situation!

it's HUMP day and we gots STORM WARNINGS

our weather says we're supposed to get 25-30cm (10-12inches) of the ugly white stuff over the next 24 hours with winds picking up to 50km/hr (30+ miles/hr) this is what Pooh calls a BLUSTERY day and I'm HUGELY thankful I didn't put away any of my winter gear YET AND.. the farthest I have to commute.. is a 24' stroll done the hall!!

Today is my last day working late hours and I'll be working until 11 pm.

Earlier hours from now on. I'm so excited

that's fanTASTic ((((sis)))) I'm SOOOO happy for ya.. YIPEE

now.. to head back outside and chisel a bit more snow away.. man we got royally DUMPED on.. ended up with a total of about 12" of the dang stuff methinks a hot bath will be in order once I'm DONE!! figures too.. can't get the blower out the doors covered in snow drifts 5' high

OMG.. scammers are becoming TOTALLY violent!! LIFE.. never a dull moment

I was getting ready for bed last night when at 10:12pm I get a phone call from a guy saying he was working with Microsoft and that I have a problem with my computer.. really??

first off.. Microsoft HAS to follow the law like all the other company's doing telemarketing wherein they are NOT allowed to call areas outSIDE the time-zone dialing times (which means they are ONLY allowed to call residential customers between 9am and 9pm within that time-zone)
secondly.. BY LAW.. if the recipient of the call (you) asks to have their name and phone # removed from their database (or put on their DO NOT CALL LIST) that company is OBLIGATED to do so IMMEDIATELY and without anything more than a "I'll do that right away" response and politely end the call...
thirdly.. I built my own computer, if there was a problem.. I'd be the FIRST to know

when I asked them to NOT call again and put me on the "do not call list" the guy said NO! when I said "WHAT??????" he responded violently saying absolutely RUDE things.. so I hung up on him..

I made 2 phone calls today.. first was to my telephone carrier.. which was to give them an earful (cuz I didn't sleep last night beCAUSE of the frustration I felt and violation of my rights) and to inquire on what they were doing to keep their clients SAFE..
the 2nd was to Microsoft (I know a few people there ) and GUESS WHAT.. Microsoft does NOT HAVE PEOPLE CALLING YOU TO TELL YOU YOUR COMPUTER DOESN'T WORK or there's a PROBLEM with it.. (his comment was "we're busy enough with people calling US with their issues to have to dial customers")

so basically people.. just a HEADS UP!!! DON'T FALL for their BS.. they only want to access your computer remotely so they can grab your info and either SELL it or USE it for their own gains!!!! BEWARE.. BE SMART.. and MOST of all friends.. BE SAFE!!!
