RANT OF THE DAY.....

in a WORD.. MENO-PAUSE!

God (or Mother Nature) has one SICK sense of humor.. and not in a GOOD way either

for 10 YEARS my doctor said.. "you're PRE-menopause" then the well dried up and he said "you're in Menopause".. ummm.. okay.. NOW what.. stupid question it's been over 5 years now and HOLY HANNA this is cruel and unusual punishment..

for those baffled folks.. a girl becomes a "woman" in around their 13th year (varies dependent on the gene pool) and for the next ooooooooo let's say 30(ish) years we get visited every 28 days or so by monthly, doubling over, cramps.. and the uncomfortableness of having to wear pads(or tampex) and a separate wardrobe for "the period days".. ahhh.. the joys of baggy clothes!! then comes pregnancy.. where we suffer the pains of growing to the size of elephant, swollen ankles (or otherwise lovingly called Cankles).. frequent bathroom visits.. shortness of breath (due to the pressure being exerted from the growing womb).. indigestion.. exhaustion.. and the list goes on.. then Childbirth.. OH.. JOY! worst 37-1/2 hrs EVER spent.. then.. the 'flow' starts again every 28 days.. it's a vicious cycle!!

finally, maturity.. you say YAY in anticipation of that ALL, FINALLY being over.. ONLY to discover your body is reacting kinda like a meth head in withdrawal.. I won't go into ALL the gory 'symptoms'.. like waking at 2 in the morning, soaked in sweat, to the point you need to change the sheets.. OR the sudden overwhelming urge to jump someone'n beat the crap outta them.. OR the constant itch it's like we get slammed goin IN.. DURing AND comin OUT!! where's the justice in THAT???

but it's ALL good.. hey.. ya gotta consider.. I've kept my mouth shut (and not complained about it LOUDLY ) for the past 40 years.. figure it was time to unload!

got a big adventure ahead today.. have an hour'n 1/2 drive into the bowels of the city across tall bridges and deep into very longggggggggg tunnels.. gonna go pick up a new mattress(for the guest bedroom) with my truck.. kids are gonna meet me there to help get it loaded.. then are gonna follow me back (making a few brief stops along the way, AND they wanna take me out for breakfast )then back home to unload and spend the rest of the afternoon having fun with my grandson.. wow.. he's getting soooo big.. almost 9 months old now PLUS try'n cram in a few hours work after they're gone..

anywho.. best go finish setting up the truck and getting the tools etc needed for the job (rope, tyvek wrap, straps etc..CHECK!) then HIT the ROAD!!

Hey hey just stopping in saw the conversation on menopause... done been there and through it and yes I did the 10 year stint... Go to a health food store they have supplements that you can get for the hot flashes.. It has been so long for me forgot the name of it...

It works great and no prescription for I refused to take anything the Dr. wanted to give me for they all have side effects... I had the Hot Flashes really bad.... But other then that I did not have the other symptoms full blast like so many do. It normally takes a week or so taken them to feel the effect...

But on the bright side when it is all gone it is great not having sever cramps every month...and not having to worry about it...

.. she just seems to be a very powerful. woman... thought you ladies could relate

I agree.. my doc wanted to give me a drug that's for MALARIA?? wow the side effects aLONE were terrifying so I hear ya.. natural is the ONLY way ta go.. and thank you again my dear.. I'll post an update once it kicks in..

just yesterday my youngest asked what was wrong.. my face went beet red from a hot flash yup.. told her she was lucky.. getting a glimpse of her future

tip'o the mornin peoples

ahhhhhhhhh.. what a GREAT nights sleep.. WOOHOOEY!! best in a VERY long time...

had a fanTABulous day yesterday with the wee one too.. OMGawd he can crawl like a pro AND pull himself UP.. AND STAND .. he's not even 9 months yet!!! (although not for very long but hey.. it's MAJOR!!!) his mom was at one end of the living room and I was at the other(with 20' between us).. she put him on the floor and he made a b-line STRAIGHT to me!! adorable!!

when I first saw him (at the mattress place) it took him about 3 mins to recognize me.. (I'm trying a new hair color out ) but once he DID?? he wouldn't let me outta his sight for ANY length of time..

when at the restaurant, he sat between his mom & I.. sooo cute.. he kept one hand on my hand the WHOLE TIME.. and like a chair.. he had his back and head on my arm while he was eating.. every so often he'd tilt his head back and look up at me with a HUGE smile.. he was soooo happy I was there.. and after 3-1/2 weeks.. I felt the same about him! I missed him more than I had realized..

when we got home though.. it was a very sad moment.. someone had killed my lil outdoor gal Nala(the extra friendly feral cat) my youngest was a rock for me.. she took care of Nala's body (very gently) and wrapped her in a shroud and even tried digging her a plot out back (which I had told her was fruitless being the ground wasn't yet thawed) but hey.. she put the effort in.. and I love her for it.. she's really starting to show signs of maturity.. wow!

anywho.. we had a WONDERful visit.. the day was sunny and warm and the winds mild.. just PERFECT for what we had to do (moving the bed from the bowels of the city, over the tall bridges AND crazy tunnels.. the queen mattress fit inside but the box spring was strapped to the TOP of my truck) yup.. AWEsome day.. one that I needed more than I had realized.. life's precious moments
