What do I like most about Obamacare? Hmmmm... 
I'm thinking it must be that I'm finally going to get health insurance. You see the Prez said that nobody should go without insurance so he's instituted this great new plan that might raise the rates for the rich folks but us poor folks would be able to get coverage now. While I despise the idea, I figured maybe it'll benefit me as I'm in the poor folk category since I've been hurt and unable to work all year. I should lay the foundation and explain my situation a little. I've worked hard most of my life to support myself and my son who is grown now. This past year I got hurt. Blew out discs in my neck/back and damaged nerves, live in pain everyday now. I had a job and insurance at the time. Went to doc after injury, needed tests done to diagnose, x-rays, MRIs, and nerve testing. Tests cost thousands of dollars, but insurance reimbursed after the fact, had to have cash up front. I didn't have it, no tests, couldn't work, couldn't pay premiums, lost insurance. After 30 days of no work, lost job. Applied for medicaid. Denied. Gotta have kids under 18 or be pregnant. If hurt, they advise to apply for disability. I did. Denied. Need to prove injury. Can't get tests done that prove it without cash or insurance. So they sent me to their doc. He didn't look at my neck. Tested my eyesight and watched me walk. Sent me on my way. Been out of work for 9 months now, still hurt, still can't go to docs, still no help from the govt. Mind ya I paid taxes for years and years and years and insurance for my son and I that whole time. Matters not. I don't qualify for assistance now, either through medicaid or social security disability. Sucks to be me. 
Fast forward to Obamacare. Do ya think this will help me? Guess again, not one damn bit! Ya see, they said that uninsured people will get insurance. If you have no income, you won't pay they said. But they tell you to apply for medicaid if you have no income. Hurt and can't work, they tell you to apply for disability. Or I can buy a plan based on my income and get reduced rates. The plans even with reduced rates still cost money that I don't have since I'm hurt and been out of work for most of this year. So where does that leave me? The same place I've been. Up the proverbial creek without a paddle. You dems think that you're helping those that need it by raising the rates for the 'rich' folk, but it's a crock of crap. Working folk are the ones getting shafted here. Rich folks can afford to pay more. Working folk can't. They're barely scraping by as it is and we wanna double or triple what they pay? For what? I'm not going to get help. I couldn't afford insurance before, I still won't be able to under this plan, plus now I'm going to get fined on top of it!!! You gotta be kidding me! Kick a girl when she's down why don'tcha! 
What do I like about Obamacare? Probably the same thing I like about Obama. Nothing. Not one damn thing!!! They're both complete and utter failures, and they're both gonna destroy this country. The Affordable Care Act is nonsense. There's nothing affordable or caring about it!! 
so you will get the same thing with obamacare as you did without it,,,,and you blame obamacare? plenty who couldn't get healthcare insurance will now be able to,, I don't know your situation, but it doesn't change the benefit this will be to others,,, How will they be able to? If they cant afford insurance what will change to enable them to afford it? Do you think the insurance companies are going to be able give them insurance? The money taken from the Obama TAX doesn't go to the insurance companies. If they give away insurance, someone will have to pay for it. Who will that be? |

the nature of math dictates, obviously, that those who literally have NO MONEY,, are not going to get a program that suddently mandates insurance companies provide them with their services anyway insurance costs MONEY,, before this and after this,, it always will there are programs ALREADY There for people with NO MONEY, and I don't know the details of why someone with a medically documented disability wouldn't qualify for disability or some other service, but that is definitely not due to obamacare and yes, people who couldn't afford the premiums before,, like me who would see 14 or 16 percent of their income go to insurance, now (for most people anyway) are going to see a CAP of not more than 9.5 percent of their income going towards it and those who had money and wanted insurance but were DENIED due to being ill,, can now not be denied its not a system that's going to help EVERYONE in EVERY SITUATION, its unfortunate that anyone thought that was possible and I never personally came to the conclusion that the President ever promised any such thing,,,,,, but, its still something that is going to help a whole lot of people in situations other than yours,, whatever that is,,,, and I do hope you find the program you are eligible for with NO income and a disability,, there should be one in place,, with or without reform,,, Debt is not wealth! Our economy is based on debt. So adding to that debt will provide wealth? For whom? Large corporations are allowed exemptions on taxes, now on health care, small business and the individual are not, not to any degree that will promote wealth, business or prosperity. Since the elimination of the middle class in America, the majority of that wealth being taxed or transferred to those already wealthy (banks, subsidies, corporations, bailouts), how does imposing a new tax or mandating the purchase of a product help those already in need when the wealthy lobby for and succeed in getting exemptions for themselves? You said it yourself, on the EBT shopping fiasco, that people knew their limits and if they foolishly exceeded them they should be prosecuted and charged with a crime...... but gov't is exempt of those charges as well? Taxation is theft, and debt is not wealth, so how does imposing yet another mandated tax on the poor help them in any way? It is simply insult to injury, and millions will suffer to help a few who refuse to help themselves while receiving a free ride at taxpayer expense. It may not be the majority . There are many of us caught in the "catch 22" of this swindle, but I guarantee you it is not anyone in congress, wall street, the corporations or the upper class who will suffer from this fraud! |

There comes a point when they can no longer offer a sale because they are not making enough profit selling grapes at a discount. They will raise the price or go out of business. |

What do I like most about Obamacare? Hmmmm...
I'm thinking it must be that I'm finally going to get health insurance. You see the Prez said that nobody should go without insurance so he's instituted this great new plan that might raise the rates for the rich folks but us poor folks would be able to get coverage now. While I despise the idea, I figured maybe it'll benefit me as I'm in the poor folk category since I've been hurt and unable to work all year. I should lay the foundation and explain my situation a little. I've worked hard most of my life to support myself and my son who is grown now. This past year I got hurt. Blew out discs in my neck/back and damaged nerves, live in pain everyday now. I had a job and insurance at the time. Went to doc after injury, needed tests done to diagnose, x-rays, MRIs, and nerve testing. Tests cost thousands of dollars, but insurance reimbursed after the fact, had to have cash up front. I didn't have it, no tests, couldn't work, couldn't pay premiums, lost insurance. After 30 days of no work, lost job. Applied for medicaid. Denied. Gotta have kids under 18 or be pregnant. If hurt, they advise to apply for disability. I did. Denied. Need to prove injury. Can't get tests done that prove it without cash or insurance. So they sent me to their doc. He didn't look at my neck. Tested my eyesight and watched me walk. Sent me on my way. Been out of work for 9 months now, still hurt, still can't go to docs, still no help from the govt. Mind ya I paid taxes for years and years and years and insurance for my son and I that whole time. Matters not. I don't qualify for assistance now, either through medicaid or social security disability. Sucks to be me.

The only news about ins. rates recently is they are going up along with the deductible. Especially for those with pre-existing illness. Also, since passage, about 15,000 pages have been added to it by non-elected people. I still believe it will fail as predicted and health care will become a single payer type. This was the goal all along. |
