There is no comparison. Gay people and child sex offenders are not similar. Society will always have 'sick people'. The worst 'sick people' are those who judge in ignorance.
i am not making a statement but i am asking you ladywind, you said there was no comparison and there will always be sickness in the world, right? so im asking you since giveing in to the flesh and not fallowing jesus is a sickness. what makes you think that gay people arent the sickness? you say pedifile is a sickness and all the did is like a gay person is give into their flesh and desires. im listening to msharmonys posts and i love her statements. we way have alot of power over things if we just rely on jesus but most are confussed and dont even believe, thier loss!

Life is harsh.

After reading over all these posts homosexuality might well be born due to a gene. Nature has a way of correcting overpopulation and humans are overwhelming the Earth. This non-propogating "feature" might be nature's way of saying, "There are enough humans."

But, per my first post and article reference, I will wait for solid scientific evidence of such a gene. For now, I simply do not know. The debate is purely opinion. If it is an extra gene like down's syndrome, or a mutated gene of some sort, I will feel sorry for them that they were "selected."

Now, parents can find out if their fetus is going to be "normal" and abort if not. I would hope no one would abort due to ANY gene dissimilarity. I have a lovely six year old girl with down syndrome in the family, and yes she has the flat facial features and short stature and mild retardation. But, she is a joy to be around too.

Life is harsh.

Tired of people telling me I chose this.

It's not a choice. I was born this way...
I believe you! I feel the same way.

I believe that too.

wouldnt a gene to have no sexual attraction work just as well as a gene to be attracted to the same sex?

I dont think they will ever prove the gene theory,, especially being that identical twins with the SAME GENES have been shown to have different sexual preferences

but even so, abstinence is always a choice as is self satisfaction,,,

although most probably consider the A word as 'realistic' as hitting a lotto,,,

because we HAVE TO and should be NON JUDTMENTAL about giving in to our flesh,,,

I don't feel sorry for my gay friends. They are proud of who they are and knowing them, I don't blame them for being proud of who they are. They're great people.

Why feel sorry for them? I feel sorry for those who can't see that differences in people are a good thing.

Why feel threatened by what you don't understand? Why not make an effort to try to understand it instead? To understand something is not to agree with it, but it does make things easier for you.

whats harmful to me about homosexuality is nothing as long as the people involved does not push it on me or start showing afection towards each other i pulic. once a person makes it my business telling me or me seeing it i judge their behavor and choose not to be around it. i want to have fun in life and follow god and i dont want my mind blinded by homosexuality. god is suppose to be number 1 not a persons feelings

Well; that being said; do you really think its appropriate for a hetrosexual couple showing public affection either? Whats good for the goose is good for the gander.

this topic is so 'touchy', understandably so

I feel 'sorry' for pedophiles, that their minds develop a special propensity for children

what keeps them from feeling 'proud' is that they are not in a society that has ANY tolerance for them,

imagine another culture, where , for instance, child marriage is acceptable ,, those men are 'proud' too, because their culture gives them no reason to feel otherwise

someones pride in their behavior doesnt stop us from being able to feel sorry for them if we feel their behavior is not correct

many EVIL and hurtful people appear PROUD of their behaviors too, but I also feel sorry for them

Do you get upset when straight people show affection to each other in public? Either way, you can choose to turn away and not see it. A gay couple should not have to keep from holding hands or kissing in public just because some don't want to see that.

I think public affaction (to a degree) between unrelated heterosexuals is healthy, being as heterosexual affection is necessary for any of us to be here in the first place

to see examples of how we 'start', has a benefit

seeing examples of homosexual relations has no said benefit,,,

as to the 'public' element, the heterosexual makes it my business when they engage in public acts too

but I feel , since its a necessary part of me existing, its not offensive to have to look at heterosexuals 'loving' each other

There are still cultures on Earth where child brides are okay. And western civilization did child brides in medieval times, it slowly became out of vogue. Excellent post, I also feel "sorry" for pedophiles as they are never forgiven.

I make the comparison because there is a comparison to be made when alluding to whether 'attraction' is chosen and whether it should be 'judged'

vs

whether behavior is chosen and whether IT should be judged

getting off doesnt equate to being beneficial

people 'get off' on alot of things and some of them are unhealthy, illegal, or immoral

a temporary 'benefit' to the flesh wasnt the benefit I was referring to exactly,,,lol

I am an 18 year old girl, I have knwon about my being a lesbian since I was small. I have tried to date men, be with them, I cant, just as much as any of you can't be with the same sex. Why would a person chose to be made fun of, have their family turn against them, their friends turn their backs on them and be different? I did not want this for a very long time. I have accepted it, I am who I am, I am a lesbian just like some of you are straight. You can't be with the same sex just as much as I can't be with the oposite.

I agree its not about choice but what the op said you are just born that way. If people don't like it; they can take a flying leap. That's the whole problem with our society that if you don't go with the flow; then you are an outcast. Screw them. Live your life the way you want to. The only happiness that matters is yours. flowerforyou
ok i was trying not to bring god into this disscusion but i must say this. in the bible and in any translation you read no homosexual will enter the kingdom of heaven. we all know god is our creator and the supreme being, right? so if god says no homosexual will enter the kingdom of heaven then make someone gay so he/she cant enter, that makes no since

religion not allowed here...flowerforyou

more and more people believe in a God that lets them do whatever feels good so long as it does no ACTIVE harm to another and would never deny them into the kingdom just for doing what made them feel good.
people can believe that gods a pushover but in all life we have choices a with those choices comes conciequences and responsibilities. just cause people dont believe it doesnt make it not true. more people need the holy spirit jesuses help for us on earthand protecter and guider

I am thinking less people need to preach to us about religion. Isn't there a religion forum for that?
